RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Doc Holliday - 07-19-2014 He took a deep breath as he looked skyward with his eyes closed at her touch. That re-assuring touch was something he had been without for too long. He kept his eyes closed for a moment but looked forward and out the window. It felt good. What's been done...it's done resonated through his mind. For the first time in a long time, he didn't know what to say or do. The only sound was from outside, that of the frogs and crickets making their songs. Those words she spoke were stronger than she could have possibly imagined as they froze him. He hadn't seen his children in awhile much for the same reason his ex had left him...he was too busy. Was he still a good man for that? Did he spoil her too much? Those were questions he wrestled with. As he turned around though, the beautiful young Rogue stood before him. He managed a weak smile as he ever so softly thanked her, placing an open hand on her shoulder as he did. "I needed those words." RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Widow - 07-19-2014 The silence was almost unnerving and for the shortest of moments she was concerned she had said the wrong thing. His reaction was not what she had expected. Nothing she had said before has had that effect on anyone. When he put his hand on her shoulder, she couldn't help but smile. She had become comfortable with his touch and unlike on Foster, she didn't want him to move his hand away. Resting her hand on his she interlocked her fingers with his, giving his hand a gentle, yet reassuring squeeze. Making eye contact for a moment, she spoke again "You have a heart of gold, John. Don't ever question that." RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Doc Holliday - 07-20-2014 He just looked at her after hearing what she said. At first, he froze as her fingers interlocked with his but when she squeezed his hand, he returned it. He was again speechless for a moment but his gaze never left her and his soft smile remained. He turned, there hands still together, wanting to at least face her. Was it the alcohol? Was it loneliness or was it simply that he was fighting off the fact that he was really starting to like her as more than a business associate and didn't dare cross that line. His mouth opened to say something but nothing came out. I don't want to screw this up he thought to himself. He just stood looking her over. His other had touched the hair he had brushed earlier that evening, even moving some aside to look into her eye. Again, he went to say something but couldn't. It might unintentionally hurt or maybe deepen feelings. Either way, there would be no going back and it frightened him. RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Widow - 07-20-2014 Ashlea nodded slightly before dropping her gaze again. She didn't let his hand go, but she wasn't sure whether to take the silence as a good thing or her overstepping the boundaries. She looked up at him again when he brushed her hair out of her eyes and noticed him go to say something, before stopping. Biting her lip, she was wanting to know what he was thinking. She sighed, torn between what she wanted to do and what she didn't want to have happen as a result of this. She wanted to be close to him, to feel his touch, she earlier she had said she didn't want the night to end, but this moment - she was happy, the butterflys in her stomach were a new feeling, like nothing she had ever felt before and she was enjoying it. But, the last thing she wanted to do was to upset him. "I'm sorry." She mumbled "I should go..." She made no attempt to leave and after a few moments of silence she gently brushed his jawline with her thumb, quietly admitting "I don't want to go." RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Doc Holliday - 07-20-2014 He took the fore finger of his free hand and placed it under her chin, picking her head up gently. He weakly smiled at her. "You don't have to go," he said barely audible, "nor do I want you to." His finger gently slide down the skin of her throat. His gaze never left hers as he enjoyed her touch. "I'm afraid," he said softly, "that I'm going to kiss you and I'm going to regret it." He sighed but finally gave in, "Ashlea, I'm sorry for what I'm about to do." RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Widow - 07-20-2014 His touch took her breath away. It was her turn to freeze, she didn't know what to say back to him. She could only smile for a moment when he mentioned he did not want her to go. For a moment, she wondered how she was going to explain this to the Rogues, She wondered if she would regret him kissing her much like he said he would. No sooner had those thoughts crossed her mind, they were gone again. Doc was there, with her - and at that moment, that was all that mattered. She was quiet until he apologized, where she just shook her head slowly "Don't be sorry..." She bites her lip, speaking quietly she added "I want you to do it." RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Doc Holliday - 07-20-2014 Doc gently bent over, the fingers of their joined hands still together. Unsure of himself, unsure of where things would go, he kissed her as his finger held her chin up. It was soft and gentle, a soft peck at first. He leaned back just a little but found himself overtaken. He leaned back to her and began to kiss her. The hand under her chin went to her other shoulder. Her lips tasted of the wine she had been drinking and were kind of sweet and she was soft to the touch. He knew at this point that this moment would change things. For better? He hoped. For worse? He hoped not. Regardless, infatuation led to this moment, a perfect cap to a perfect night. He finished the kiss and pulled away just enough to speak but again was silent. Her breath was warm against his face and managed a soft smile, their hands still together. "I guess I did it," is all he whispered, wanting to kiss her again. RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Widow - 07-20-2014 The butterflies in her stomach were almost unbearable and despite knowing it was coming, the first kiss almost caught her off guard. It made her knees weak, and she wasn't sure her heart had ever beat so fast before. It wasn't until he leaned back toward her that her nerves disappeared. She kissed him back, and for that moment, time seemed to stop. She couldn't help but smile once he had pulled away. For the first time in her adult life she didn't think about what she did next. Using her free hand and ran her fingers up back of his neck to his hairline. It was her turn to kiss him, she gently pulled him towards her again, as she was slightly shorter then him, she was standing on the pads of her bare feet. She kissed him softly, lovingly. It was yet another moment in time where forever would never be long enough. She pulled away as far as he had, with the same smile. "I didn't want you to stop." She whispered to him. RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Doc Holliday - 07-20-2014 He felt a bit more at ease. Any doubts he had disappeared with her approval. "Then I won't," he whispered back as he closed the gap between them and began kissing her again. As he did, his hands rested first on her shoulders before they began to knead her upper arms. As the kissing became deeper yet still gentle, his hands went over her back and down the sides of her ribs before settling just below her shoulder blades. Pulling her closer, he didn't stop, just as she had said. A heavy breath escaped as the mix of moisture from their breath, the taste of wine on her lips and her touch just made things right. As they kissed more, his hands roamed her back between her shoulders and the small of her back. Yes, things between them had changed and he was no longer sorry. RE: A Meeting A Foster Base (//Doc and PLR ONLY) - Widow - 07-21-2014 As they kissed, Ashlea let him take control, she had never allowed another man to do that before, she had never trusted any enough. She was comfortable with him, and what surprised her, was that it felt completely right. She moved her hands so they were now in front of her, her elbows bent as she gently grips his shirt. As they shared the kiss, she realized he had captivated her entirely and she wouldn't change it for the world. After some time she pulled back, cuddling into his chest listening to his heartbeat. She knew if he continued she would want more. Once she made eye contact, she couldn't help but smile, there weren't words to explain what she was feeling, bliss... euphoria, they wouldn't even come close. She stayed close to him and moved her hand back up to his hairline, gently rubbing the back of his neck with her thumb. The only thought at this point that was beginning to make any sense was her hoping he didn't regret it as he had said he would. |
