Well i must say i see no reason Laowai shouldn't have the full confidence of this server, from what ive seen on the forums he is an even tempered person, and most importantly not full of himself.
Also, in regards to this little OC-Nomad/Keeper rp thing,
1)SCRA has done the same thing and no one cares (as i think blunt mentioned earlier)
2)Entertaining story by Laowai, more rp'ing like that should be encouraged
3)Its a character he played for fun in a game, as this is, as said before, just a game, albeit with entertaining characters and other lives
what is needed in an admin isn't some magic rp that all agree with, but an even keel and the ability to put fair as fair.
so i say congratulations Laowai, hope this works out well.
PS: to those that are arguing, lighten up a bit, the rp events in question aren't really changing the course of the game, and also it just seems petty to hijack the thread to debate what is legitimate spy rp.

I believe that I am entitled to my own opinion.
In my clear judgement, untainted beliefs, and sound mind, I believe everything that is coming out of the oppositions' mouths right now to be absolute bull, and hence, I feel that Laowai is a great candidate for this position.
Bravo, old foreigner. Just make sure that the censors don't think that "Admin" is a codeword for spy.

Caylith cruised to catch up in a capital ship once. Should that disqualify her in being an admin?
The point is, yes, Laowai did something that some people find taboo, or bad form. He could have done it a better way, but he didn't. That said, was what he did sanctionable? No, I don't think so.
So we have an admin getting sanctioned, and a prospective admin who did something once that is frowned upon. What are you asking for here, perfection?
Mistakes are made. One arguable mistake is hardly reason to discount him from being an admin.

Darn straight. Laowai is someone who I would more than trust with the safety of the server, seeing his dedication to it both on the forums and ingame. He has both my thumbs up, and even my big toes, if I could find a way to point them towards the ceiling.
Also, he is a Corsair, so I'll have to try extra hard to point my toes up. ;)

After reading through the several posts Laowai has made (I didn't count any flood posts,, as well, it's flood & surely not to be taken serious 99% of the time) I have seen a few things Laowai has done that leads me to believe he may make a good choice as an admin. Although he has had a couple questionable RP plots, that's part of the game. Not like I haven't seen others, including myself, try to manipulate a role play story to better fit their self or faction to change up the game. I don't agree with what he did or how he went about it, but also the one incident I seen is not enough to convince me that he would not make a good admin & be able to keep the game & the admin responsibilities separate. Biggest influence in my decision was a post he made awhile back criticizing his own play & made a attempts to sanction himself. Not many would do this, & that type of dedication to at least trying to play fair & in the best interest of Disco should be recognized.
As long as Laowai can keep admin duties separate from the game itself. & not let his character goals influence his judgment as an admin, He gets a yes vote from me.

2.) Yes it should.
3.) Yes, it is a game, but there are other players.. This isn't a big problem for me (not taking the piss out of Laowai if you haven't noticed), I just think that if you ever write a story involving someone else's faction, that you should inform them and give them a say. Blunt, you've said this to me before..
