Zoner City Ship - Nightwind - 02-25-2009 You're not going to re-model the ships blocky arse? The front looks completely awesome, but that rear part is somehow too "simple"... As for the size, I like B or C most. Not sure with C because it may not be detailed enough to look good. Zoner City Ship - Tic - 02-25-2009 ' Wrote:You're not going to re-model the ships blocky arse? The rear blocky part is the engine/docking space so it shape is more heading towards efficiency then design. And it's not really 'that' blocky, might just appear so from the images. Zoner City Ship - Linkus - 02-25-2009 Make it slightly bigger than C, so that it is noticably bigger than a Rheinland battleship. If it is C size, it will still have major trouble with asteroid fields even due to it's shape. These ships are also meant to be slow ones I'm guessing that aren't in a huge huge hurry to get places, so they could fly around asteroid fields. Flying 50k is barely a few minutes after all. Zoner City Ship - Tic - 02-25-2009 It can't be bigger.. C is already 25% wider then RH BS, and it's the same lenght and almost s tall... ![]()
Zoner City Ship - Jake.Holden - 02-25-2009 okay then I'll go for C in stead of D Zoner City Ship - Petersen - 02-25-2009 people dont get crazy about the size, i think C is perfect size. if you make it much bigger than that you wont get through jumpholes. and if it was much bigger than C the proportions wouldnt look very good anymore. otherwise a very fine model tic, hoping to see it fly around in game. Zoner City Ship - Tic - 02-25-2009 Here is a little better comparison with the C model.
Zoner City Ship - Nightwind - 02-25-2009 When I said blocky I meant the engine part, not the docks. After I saw this image I think you should stay with a slightly larger B. C is too huge to my mind. You should make it a bit smaller than the Rheinland BS. My opinion... Zoner City Ship - Tubalcaine - 02-25-2009 I love it, Tic. I wish I could give constructive criticism but it's just too nice. I think that C would be a great size for it, as, in my opinion, having a warship with a greater size than a ship intended to have the population of a city is a strange idea. I'll take two. ' Wrote:The textures should be detailed a bit more but everything else is nice. Don't know why but kinnda reminds me on Freespace 2. That's funny, because it reminds me nothing of FS2 XD Pre-post edit- Actually, looking at that post it does highly remind me of FS2. It sort-of resembles the Mentu-Class cruiser, but with a Terran texturing scheme. Zoner City Ship - Lanakov - 02-26-2009 This idea of an armored flying city has been used in Sins Of a Solar Empire, with the Vasari race. Basically, all of their caps are cities, and I love that concept. Your model is great and the idea is very interesting, not to mention all the possible RP you can make out of it. Great job ! |
