RE: Starlight Research Consortium - Documenting and Reporting - Leo - 08-10-2025 ![]() Starlight Research Consortium Chasing starlight since 829 A.S. From: Mr. Dante Flintlocke Subject: Dublin Anomaly Scan 8.10.835 Encryption Strength: SLRC Protocol ![]() Director,
As requested, the Darkhorse and Zenith recently made a pass by Dublin before our resumption of surveys in the Lambda cluster via Roussillon. You were correct in assuming our scanning array would penetrate the interference through which other smaller Starlight ships were unable to. What was discovered by cutting through said interference is concerning. The anomaly in Dublin displays similar characteristics to that of our own in Tau-23 when unstable. However, what is more alarming is the amount of radiation being thrown off from the forming anomaly. Disturbingly, we detected trace amounts of non-typical Hawking radiation emanating from its center and exuding outwards towards the edge of the debris site. My limited knowledge of quantum mechanics tells me that this may be less of an anomaly and more of a rift in space--possibly a forming tear not unlike that of a jump hole, its endpoint a mystery. I would recommend further study of the anomaly in Dublin along with the aid of our Starflier cousins next door. No doubt our numbers are diminished, and they would be able to shore up our lack of manpower...not to mention joining hands in the spirit of camaraderie. We will be deploying from Roussillon shortly to the Lambda cluster for approximately four days and will return for a debrief on the 14th. We will have limited communications until then. From: Emily Gataki Subject: Change of plans Encryption Strength: SLRC Protocol I have no idea how to put this to the rest of you who remained behind, but here goes nothing.
Starlight's now got a new toy to play with, though there's some escorts needed to get her moved over to home base. She had no weapons, so if we end up trawling through Bretonia she won't have the opportunity to defend herself should she be interdicted by the Bretonian Law. We will need to mobilize together in order to keep the vessel safe and secure. Ikarus is holding together, as always. It's a little run down of late because of some mis-match in shipping manifests but that's more than fixable in the coming weeks. A new set of shipments are due on the seventh this coming month, but whether or not that happens is another thing. Pathfinders. Another is trying to join your number. A Freelancer, explorer at heart. He's not intending full-time, but he's already shown good awareness with the highlighting of several flaws in our old navigational databases. Sirius still has her secrets. Last, but not least, I've been.... Informed that I am now, for the time being, acting director of the Starlight Research Consortium. This... I can't explain why or how, I don't even understand myself. The past few weeks have been getting to grips with everything. I can't say whether these changes are good or not, but we will work with them regardless. --Emily Gataki Heavy Research Vessel Andromeda Ever upwards, towards answers. ...standby. Checking packet...

From: Dr. Sailas Montgomery Subject: A return to normalcy Encryption Strength: SLRC Protocol Rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Suffice to say, I've returned from my years long sabbatical to return to my role as Director of Starlight. I want to thank Dr. Wright and others who have stepped into my shoes to maintain our home and company for the period that I was away. As for the reasons for my sudden and lengthy departure--we'll discuss that another time. In the meantime, we've been reached out to by Kishiro this week for a joint venture into the Deep Omegas. Mr. Dante Flintlocke of the Pathfinder corps has been informed and is standing by in Omega-49 with the Darkhorse for their arrival. Additionally, we need volunteers to assist Ms. Gataki in retrieving one of our future heavy class ships, the Andromeda, from the Omegas. A route has not been specified yet but we are recommending a trip through the Omegas and into the mysterious "Barrow" system which was recently charted by our own Mr. Flintlocke. Travel beyond this location is in flux and will be briefed as we have more information. Finally, I've begun work on a new ship to replace the destroyed Infinitum, it's in testing in the Omicrons at the moment so there isn't much to say on it yet, but I'll have further info in once I've worked out all the bugs. Thanks again everyone, I'm happy to be back. --Dr. Sailas Montgomery Director, SLRC Ever upwards, towards answers. ...standby. Checking packet...
