No, it refrains from using lot of them
Mortar are some kind of super weapons

What I would do is to somehow force the ship build to something similar to NPC builds.
Solaris have to be preferred on the BS as well as heavy guns on destroyers.

I still didn't made up this in the OPG but soon we will apply at full force the meaning of this in our raids, starting with order vs OPG as it is a good training event. Through the Order vs BHG event, I guess the BHG will follow. Then, more than half of players knowing the deals through all of this, the whole Sirius may change to good way.

Tic just gave us all the solution, I may be the only one seeing this, even if I don't use it.
The whole heavy ships are in fact well balanced, just we don't use them well.


My point on the Loki is ... did you ever fight against a LF ? I did and hitting the hull of that thing is about to b a miracle, a LF pilot kill you with time, not insta kills like we all want to.

Meh, Now I have first hand experience of what escorts cannot do. Ive had a Corvo Cruiser, a Hathor Gunboat, Two Geb's, about 2 fighters and a few bombers, I still died. Not one of them killed one of the two nomad bombers. What does that say?

Bombers need a nerf or fighters need a buff.

nomad/wild/phantom ships are not balanced but boosted for "supposed" good reasons. (we are supposed to gank them all, no skill have to be taken in consideration)

Did you know a nomad assassin can blow up 1/4 of a BS shield and maintain his level all the time while a bomber is just about to do a bit much more with shield busters only ?

as super weapon it doesnt deal significant amount of damage, too easy to be dodged, use massive amount of energy, not as much dps as i can get from Primary, if we have our Battleship Pulse cannon Anti-hull version, that would be great.

Give the bombers the size and the agility of the freighters.

Problem fixed.

Still efficient against cap, a little bit less but still efficient (make caps happy)

Totally useless against fighters (make VHF happy)

Bombers will now just be efficient to destroy some caps and had to be escorted by fighters if they don't want to get pwned too easily.

That would make them beatable by secondary turrets while only solaris are supposed to do this job.
Also I can't be here in order/OPG war game this week :/

Since I may be the only one having our new strategy completely in head, that's pretty a bad thing to introduce it :/

Well, anyway, just know the solaris should be more used than the primaries.

Well, bombers aren't supposed to be totally invincible against BS... If the BS can kill some bombers, it's good. Still, bombers will need more skill to attack properly a cap. Of course, the new bombers class will have a freighter shield class 6 minimum (around 25-30k shields) and minimum 20-25k of hull. They will be easier to hit but much toughter. I think this is the best compromize.

I've seen a very nice discussion in this post and a previous one.
Looks like the consensus is:
Bombers are too good vs Caps & Fighters, and the main solution is:
Nerf Bombers agility
Buff Fighters weaps

I suggest to do only one of them, otherwise other balances in the game may suffer.
I'd like to buff the fighters since it would be more RP-friendly. After all this is an RP server.
