Not all new factions get shot down, if they do, theres a damn good reason for it, such as some loopholes, or the players general RP. The same thing happened to Legacy a while back, they may have had history and what not, but their players/faction members were utterly horrible and couldn't and even didn't want to RP. That's why factions get shot down. Other factions usually get shot down because the thought in RP is too minimal and they don't take their own faction too seriously thinking they'll get it right the first time. Its not true, I'm trying to set up my own faction, I've already spent at least 9 hours on it. These are just some reasons.
I'm glad you got rid of the idea of having an entire house/country/nation to yourself. I look forward to seeing your faction proposal.
(I'd bash the idea right now but I'll wait till you get more details).
oh no sorry all that stuff about single house country nations etc isnt wat is meant. all the old posts way back at the start are null an void there that isnt our idea or current idea at all.

Perhaps the British felt obliged to bring survivors from their various colonies? Genetic diversity and all that. I mean...what happened to India in all this bailing?...Isn't it one of the most populated/Richest countries on Earth?!?
I must admit though...Australian culture, which even I can't define, would stand no chance of surviving 800 years surrounded by the British

Ok, I'm in MUN, and there is no reason the British would ditch their own citizens for the citizens of another nation, not even ally.
They'd rather have their own citizens on board those ships because those are the citizens that have lived, worked and payed taxes to their country, not the Aussie/Indian citizens. The Australian/Indian government would be responsible for their own citizens and wouldn't expect another nation to take care of them, nor would they let them.

HONOUR people have done strange things for their values. Australia is a child of Britain we didnt have the poor relationship with it like America we didnt have to run away they cared for us at the start as we grew an could walk they pulled back as we could talk they pulled back when we could fight back for ourselfs they pulled back to treat us as our own country. Britain still shares a special bond with australia it would have felt honour bound to step in.
@ Night hawk you can attempt to stomp on things that way all you like till your blue in the face it doesnt change the fact I heard you I can read perfectly fine but I wont fully appease you submissively. there are many ways it could be done 50 odd years or so is a long time hard work could have created cramped but additional space with the use of skilled workers. You might not understand this but sometimes people SACRIFICE things for others sometimes people make deep heart felt sacrifices for common strangers or they make sacrifices for the greater good what more good is there than preventing a way of life a people from utter extinction pulling them back from utter oblivion.
Now I care for all you basher types out there to shove something in your pipe an smoke it. Put the kettle on make yourself a cup of tea or coffee have a break or just plain go to bed. As there is no purpose for continual unconstructiveness. We currently have about 3 page write up regarding to a timeline to bit of background to organisation we are fine tuning it add final things to it but it will be put up soon in a new thread clear of all the rest of ramblings that are in this thread. an from there constructive (not bashing) critisim can begin. until such time there is no point in you all harping on about how things couldn't work because there are people not naming names out of the faction who think it is acceptable or tolerable with out bashing ideas to bits. Some who accept an acknowledge players who have flown a call sign as the auxillary and shown splendid ROLE PLAY on this roleplay server.
Now I will bid you all good day till I open the thread with all the offical ideas for presentation not this thread were a few ideas have been bounced around, were things look chaotic nothing like what they will be when presented is this understood.

What your forgetting though Marcus
Is that Earth might not have been run by a number of Governments when the sleeper ships jumped...wasn't it an Umbrella government called the Alliance? That suggests that every nation got a chance to survive, not just those the ships where named after....
Far out, I don't even think this is a good idea and I'm arguing it!

// Actually dunn asked for opinions this is his thread I just seemed to have suddenly been handed over representation to the forum. on the other note Im having a really really bad week a close family member of mine my grandad passed away on the weekend I didnt really sleep for a few days as it come to Monday I almost got hit by a car. Accidently walked into a young drunken man while reading a letter who i almost got pounced on by I was stalked by an old man for 2 hours before I managed to go to an appointment were he couldnt follow me. I then stubbed my toe an fell down a flight of stairs. Today In my battered an bruised agony everything imaginable has gone absolutely wrong from me getting caught out in the rain to when i did the food shopping my bank card died an wouldnt work on any of the shops eftpos machines. this is just a very very very bad week so I think im inclined to be exhausted an emotional. Im not taking things personally im just speaking with a bit of emotion (though I acknowledge 1 statement was a lot more personal than it should have been).//
On the whole though as reading with my statement above we are now all waiting till I open the thread presenting a lot of peoples hard work.

Ok I read your previous post where a family member passed away, and I'm sorry (I was literally 3 seconds away from getting banned in the forums for flaming you).
Now listen up (or read, wtv).
Last week I was in a mock debate. The resolution was about donating just 5% of your countries national GDP (yes this is related to MUN) to the IAEA for prevention and combating nuclear disasters in the future. I represented China. It was just 5% of GDP, not that big of a deal.
And then I had to rewrite my position paper and change my forspeech to an against speech when I found out that even though 5% was relatively a small percentage for China, they'd still be against it anyways (I'd go into more detail but thats irrelavent).
The point is, even if they had honor, they wouldn't do it. They have nothing to gain from it, their objective was to survive. They would rather use the people who have grown up in their nations rather than some other nation. Why? Their own citizens have been educated there, they know the ideals and values and what not (in others, they've slightly been brainwashed). Chances are, some foreign citizens will make more problems then their own citizens, which is a big deal when your trying to rebuild an entire civilization.

I didn't think they were, in fact, if they were one government, why didn't all the sleeper ships seperate and create their own governments? Why didn't the sleeper ships all rendezvous in one planet and settle there? Why didn't they just create one big sleeper ship? Why didn't they betray Gallia?
