When Prowler told about a rollback, it was NOT an official announcement, and no announcement followed until the release of the beta. So the August rollback was just a rumor, no solid backing to it anywhere, and later on, admins told that very likely there will be no rollback.

FYI it said there would be a rollback after the 4.87 rollout happened not before.
It also was not announced after numerous requests for what to expect, when to expect it and how the rollback would occur and affect users..
So to conclude.....there was no sign about wet paint....just wet paint.....
The flame that was burning was ethenol so was not obviously visible to the naked eye....and there was no sign or anyone stood near by who knew what they were talking about in relation to fire and fire protection announcing the fact...
Lack of signs, lack of info.... lack of communication.

It was better a rolleback to 14/09/2013 ....and the Beta was on 15/09/2013 and not 10/08/2013 :S

In fact you destroyred hours of hours of liftime spent by dozens of people who were NOT prepared for such things. Keep on your work, im done with discovery freelancer, i worked so hard for my users and now all is just... gone.

there were enough warnings that a rollback would happen.
i dont whine even tru i lost some ships and several 100 mill creds
thanks to -insert name-`s hacking this Rollback was the only way to get rid of the stuff that was aquired due to hacking.
we should be glad that we have some dedicatet members that will work for free to develope this mod.
was anout to say something extremly harsh about some of the Q_Q posts here but i better dont cuz i would prollt get a tempBan if i said what i wantet to say to you.

i can understand your frustration about the exact time/date the rollback was going to happen
but i see it as this, as i stated before, the devs needed to find out the exact date/time that the cheating was going on,
so they worked to fix it, meanwhile they were working on the 4.87 update, which isnt anything to do with the rollback, it was just an unfortunate time that the 4.87 was nearly ready to be released, when they found out about the cheating
so
the withheld the release of the update until they could sort out the cheating
and then released 4.87 as a beta to update and fix it, to help us all out
they announced there would be a database rollback, but they wouldn't really know how far to go back until they found all the issues/bugs/cheats
its unfortunate that its just over 2 months ago, but if its necessary to go back that far to make a safe and stable server that everyone can enjoy then so be it

Well your just a regular forum members, so I wouldn't trust you in the first place, especially if an admin then said to ignore you. However Prowler at the time was an admin and the reasoning behind it made sense. Infact it seemed like the only option, so I thought it was worthwhile keeping that in mind, despite the other counter-warning.
And in the end it worked out great for me and my factions.

That is a very important, yet subtle distinction.
Even though Prowlers announcement wasn't "official" it is still an admins opinion on the issue and so worth taking into consideration. Especially when it seemed so likely anyways, and despite the counter post made later.
Anyways, enough crying over this, best just move on, re-earn those creds and have fun. Any folks who now need cash are always welcome to buy Platinum ore from the Platinum| boys
