RE: Tour de Cambridge - TheSauron - 07-13-2017

Caroline showed a subtle, sad smile when John mentioned the people he found innocent.

- I do. I wouldn't be doing what I do otherwise. One doesn't undertake a fight like ours without believing in the cause.

He sighed at the conversation. ''I agree with what you say Carol, I really do. However, we must all be responsible for our actions. I am hardly an innocent, and as such, History will be the final judge of us all. Most of us will pass on unnoticed, but the BPA? the Gaians? They'll be remembered for a long time to come. For good or for bad I am not wise enough to say....But I'll tempt fate and say that so long as you are there, then it could always be worse.''

Caroline smiled a little more.

- Oh, really? - she asked, giving John a curious look. - What makes you think so?

RE: Tour de Cambridge - Victor Steiner - 07-13-2017

He stopped what little walking he was doing and faced her. ''It's quite simple really, you care. You care about your cause, you care about the people you fight with, but also against. You have no illusions about what you do and accept the consequences of your actions. You are aware that not all Gaians are motivated by the same things you are, but you fight on regardless, because you believe in the cause. As such I can conclude that you, under no circumstances save the most dire, would ever willingly turn into a monster to defeat your enemies. And that, is most admiralable indeed''

Caroline's smile persisted throughout his explaination. She remained silent even once he was done, taking a few seconds to search for words.

- Thank you, John. I... I don't even know what to say to that. - she chuckled. She then went silent for a bit more. - I'm happy to hear you have faith in me. I promise not to disappoint you.

RE: Tour de Cambridge - Victor Steiner - 07-17-2017

''You are most welcome.'' he said begining to walk again ''But let us move away from this darker topic. Tell me how you've been since last we met, I don't believe we've had a proper chance to catch up''

RE: Tour de Cambridge - TheSauron - 07-20-2017

- I've been well. Working most of the time. The incidents from New London are keeping us up at night as well. I almost feel bad for taking a leave now, but... I'm not the one to argue when everyone is telling me to get some rest. - she smiled a little bit. - How about you, John?

RE: Tour de Cambridge - Victor Steiner - 07-21-2017

''I'm well enough I suppose. More investigations and the like, crime never sleeps, as it were. Mostly it's keeping the traders and evac. transports safe. Mostly it's patroling the Omega-3 system, keeping the Hessians and Corsairs at bay. So yeah..same old same old.

RE: Tour de Cambridge - TheSauron - 07-21-2017

- Evac transports? What kind of evac transports, if may I ask? Leeds refugees?

RE: Tour de Cambridge - Victor Steiner - 07-21-2017

''Med evac transports from Leeds yes, but also evac transports from New London to Cambridge, and some to the Liberty border in Cortez, those who can afford it are legging it it seems.''
