As the other man told the story of what he had to do to his friend he merely nodded, understanding.
"The need of the many outweighs the need of the one, it is never an easy choice but it is right." he comments, taking off his spectacles and lightly cleaning them with the sleeve of his uniform.
"In the Coalition it's the same, some times one must act in a matter that kills a small group to save large populations from death, we cannot help everyone, but we can make sure they have a fighting chance, even if it means we must kill a brother so they may live." he stated as he placed his spectacles back onto the bridge of his nose.
"I must wonder though, should you encounter a friend, a former ally or a family member on the side of those who oppose us, what would you do?" he pondered, an raised eyebrow suggesting it wasn't a rhetorical question.

Santorini merely gave a scornful snort at Adalrich's response. She took a paperweight in her hand, and spun it around. She then removed a blaster from her hip, and pointed it at Adalrich.
See this Blaster? It can fire as many shots as there is energy in the powercells inside it. The shots fired from it can disintegrate a man, but a shot has only one use, and then it's usefulness ends. The gun is as useful as the powercell inside it. So...are you the gunshot, the gun, or the powercell?
She leans back in the chair, waiting for a response.

Mendel looked up at the celebrating people who were rushing past him with questionnaires.
A slight twitching of his left eye, indicating that something was amiss.
"I am sorry," he said quietly to Alicia, drawing his pistol. "I need to cull the herd a little..."
He walked up to the doorway to the Commissar's office who was interviewing Swatch, swung it open and shot the man beyond. Stepping forward to fire two more shots into the man, just to be sure.
"Bland answer, weak and lacking in effort. Prognosis... death by lead poisoning."
He crossed and threw open Santorini's door, staring at her, "We have too many recruits. Kill some of them, that's an order!"
He glanced at Ally-whatzit, "not this one, not yet."
