RE: Junker Marauders Recruitment - D3FiL3R - 01-03-2015

:::]InRP Form[:::

Your Name: Vlaadimir Draakt'Aernon

Your Age: 41

Where are you from?: Omicron Alpha - Planet Malta*

Previous Jobs/Roles: Outcast Pirate and Covert Operation Specialist

Detailed Background, a Paragraph (the more we can learn about you, the better): Me background be somewhat complicated see, but I guess I can begin with me experience in Sirius_Disco. See in my day, Outcast were pirates, loosely organized marauders ensuring cardamine trade but insisting a cut for the safe passage of most vessels through the Omicrons. Never has it been my experience that the Outcasts be religious zealots, fanatics even and highly organized at that. Upon me arrival in the sirius_disco universe, I intended to organize a small conglomerate syndicate of sorts, Outcast pirates from days of old, who working with a small group of disparaged Zoners, began smuggling cardamine, and protecting those trade routes and vessels by keeping a close eye on IMG enforcers in th TAU systems. Aye, we did pirate a few freelancers and loosely tied junkers (me apologies) but we always keep it professional and most slipped by with a small toll fee and were even informed on whether IMG were policing the next system. Having a reasonable degree success we even established a small base for meself and my associates. Unfortunately, we were not warmly received and the bloody Crimson Cross fanatics blasted all our hard work out of TAU-37 space, destroying me base calling it "illegal" and disbanding me lads (oddly ironic coming from an outcast faction calling an outcast pirate base illegal...). The demise of [D4Rk]Syndicate was untimely and the participating Zoners are currently re-organizing in [Z]DS (Zoner Distribution Services or Zoner Dark Syndicate) in order to continue to stay afloat financially as they deal with the destruction of their plans, the feeling of limbo it puts the organization in and the set back of being once again under the thumb of IMG dogs.

So here I am with me ships and callsigns, a rag tag bunch of smugglers, pirates and a miner looking for a home. The Junker Marauders seem to offer the best foster home for these former syndicate members. The Marauders seem to represent the old school mentality that Outcast Pirates once had in my day and seems the best fit for my skill set. See'in as the Congress, the Cross and the Omicron Supply Zoners are already in some love triangle, and blew me up rudely, I'm not to be knocking on there door anytime soon.

Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you bring to JM?: Besides the above mention reasons that the Marauders offer the type of roles in the organization my boys can fulfill, ye have a very respectable logo and im too grimey to sign up for the Police or the IMG Dogs...

My Current set up is as follows (obviously would have to be renamed deleted, or re-rep'd, but just to give you an idea of what me boys have been up to):

[D4Rk]D3FiL3R[X]: Outcast Pirate - Rapier VHF
[D4Rk]Overlord[X]: Outcast Gunship
[Z]DS-Transport-Alpha: Zoners - Border Worlds Transport (was [D4Rk]Industries_LLC)
[Z]DS-Transport-Beta: Zoners - Zoners Whale (was [D4Rk]Mammon-LED)
[Z]DS-Covert_Operations: Zoners - Hegemon Miner (was [D4Rk]Mine_Crime-LED) and Base Platform Freighter

(/ooc here in lies the beginning of my problems in not understanding faction in discovery thinking these groups ok to work together under one faction tag and having been renamed after my base was destroyed...which is why I feel i need the guidance of an organization like the Marauders to help aim my talents and ventures at an appropriate goal beside providing a richer FL experience)

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: I am relatively new to Discovery but I did play shortly back in like 4.82 version maybe even before that. I mostly played on "The_Void" server and another older server that was somewhat stawars based if i remember correctly. I have been playing about a month and a half since i have been back but i have been playing Freelancer since it came out.

How long have you played a Junker character for, if at all? (Not important, it's just useful to know if you've played a Junker before. We accept both people who have and people who haven't played a Junker before): I have never played a junker but have played a lot of characters that frequent junker bases.

In your own words, how would you define a Quasi-Lawful?:Quasi-Lawful is like mostly lawful but if noone's lookin' a load of contra band here or there, a pirated Freelancer here or there, but mostly lawful in the front of the eyes of big brother watching

How familiar are you with the Borderworlds?: relatively familiar with the northern Omicrons, Taus and Omegas, Sigmas and interconnecting routes.

How familiar are you with smuggling?: what I called trading, most call smuggling, so very....

How familiar are you with piracy?: Yaar.... Saavy? Pretty familiar and professional about it usually collecting a fair toll, a laugh and a wave goodbye.

What factions have you been in previously?: Outcast and Zoner Mostly

Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you offer?: Well, I can make basic signatures, I'm Pretty creative & usually perceived as somewhat comical or fun to interact with, professional with my dealing with others and have enough rock-&-roll attitude to represent a cool faction like the Junker Marauders with respect. Relatively strong communication skills and decent RP value.

Finally, what is your Skype?: Well, I'm a Skype N00b and old school at that so I don't have a cam or mic atm but its:
d4rk.d3fil3r

Thank You for your time and consideration... I feel that the Junker Marauders would help increase the richness of my FL experience and provide common goals in order to utilize my talents and hopefully expose me to more than just wondering around the universe solo, lacking purpose, camaraderie and interaction, besides getting blown to pieces by factions I inadvertently offend...

Your Name: Zacharias Oster, or simply Oster

Your Age: 22

Where are you from?: Planet Malta

Previous Jobs/Roles: Flight Deck Technician, tinker, tenor, spy. But mostly a flight deck technician.

Detailed Background, a Paragraph (the more we can learn about you, the better): My name is Zachary Oster, and until recently I was in the employ of the familia Mendes of Malta. My parents brought me there as an infant from New Berlin to escape the ravages of those aliens, the ones that the Maltese call 'spirits' and worship, during the so called Nomad War of 800 AS. I never trusted them, and always had a shiver shoot up my spine whenever we were in close contact with one. I'm not ashamed to admit it - those things are verboten everywhere else in Sirius for a reason. They might not mean the Outcasts harm, but that doesn't do so much for the rest of us, eh?

Despite my misgivings I served as one of two engineers and the flight deck master of their pilgrim liner Visione Ricordato, and am largely responsible for that heap being spaceworthy after a lengthy (and frustrating) retrofit. With their eldest son in the Crimson Cross and the family relocated to the organization's valley planetside, there is no work to be had with them, and I've no wish to try my luck with another Outcast family. I've heard stories, y'see.

My roots have always been Junker. It is time I came home.

Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you bring to JM?: As opposed to the Junker Congress, that is? We see some of the goings-on with them over the Neural Net, and hear about them from those few who still run scrap up to Valetta Shipyard, not to mention that business with the government of Liberty and their outlook in general has made me think that they've gone a bit...soft. There's really no place for me in that organization; we of Malta might be respectable pirates, but we're still pirates. I bring my technical skill, knowledge of the Taus and the Omicrons, and admittedly indirect experience as a smuggler to your organization. I can shoot guns, too.

:::]OoRP Form[:::

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?: Since 2012, on and off. Probably a bit over a year total.

How long have you played a Junker character for, if at all? (Not important, it's just useful to know if you've played a Junker before. We accept both people who have and people who haven't played a Junker before): I played an indie Junker briefly, but to be honest it was mostly to fly a Salvager. Love that ship.

In your own words, how would you define a Quasi-Lawful?: In front of the lawfuls, you are lawful; in front of the unlawfuls, you are unlawful; in front of both, you are neutral at best or (insert side with the most guns here) at worst. Gotta look out for number 1, you know.

How familiar are you with the Borderworlds?: Spent most of my time on Disco in them, specifically Taus and Omicrons as mentioned above.

How familiar are you with smuggling?: Almost all of my trading was smuggling, and I maintain smuggling transports for the |+|.

How familiar are you with piracy?: I've received a few 'donations' here and there.

What factions have you been in previously?: |+|

Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you offer?: Because I want to fly a Junker that sometimes exists on the other side of the law. Also, I may have been threatened with Ascos if I didn't apply soon...and nobody wants that. I'm not great in PvP or anything but I can turret steer and whatnot.

Finally, what is your Skype?: desct1022

Your Name: Rob Banks

Your Age: Around

Where are you from?: Liberty

Previous Jobs/Roles: Smuggling ship's captain. Underground betting ring owner.

Detailed Background, a Paragraph (the more we can learn about you, the better):

I was raised in orphanage thus had no knowledge about my parents. I am around 30 years old and have been making a living outside my "birth place" for last 10 years. Obviously, first steps were less than pleasant and I had to rely on pick pocketing and stealing. After collecting a bit more credits, I decided to do few cons which landed me a nice freighter. Realizing this as my only chance to go out to space, I rushed to Rochester to scrap all registry codes and tracking devices from it and started doing few smuggling routes. Pay was good, but the risk was immense. Thus I started to take interest in betting rings and managed to get in touch with one of the owners. After gaining enough trust, I was in position to take lead on whole operation. Unlucky accident and the owner drowned in his Jacuzzi. What can I say? Better money, less risk as I use lackeys to avoid any suspicion. However Manhattan is ruthless. My success caught attention of bigger rings and I soon found myself running for my life. At least I got to keep all my profits which I invested into buying few sturdy and heavily armored Pirate Transports. With my luck, I hope to find more success in space. Maybe score a few loads of juicy cargo.

Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you bring to JM?:
I heard rumors that your organisation is very efficient in handling themselves and I believe I can be a great addition to the gang.

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?:
Way too long.

How long have you played a Junker character for, if at all? (Not important, it's just useful to know if you've played a Junker before. We accept both people who have and people who haven't played a Junker before):
A bit then and now.

In your own words, how would you define a Quasi-Lawful?:
Definition

How familiar are you with the Borderworlds?:
I can find my way out.

How familiar are you with smuggling?:
Yes.

How familiar are you with piracy?:
Yes.

What factions have you been in previously?:
In corporations, in criminal and in lawful ones.

Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you offer?:
Good times.

Finally, what is your Skype?:

RE: Junker Marauders Recruitment - Egmund Tauber - 04-27-2015

:::]InRP Form[:::

Your Name: Egmund Tauber

Your Age: 64

Where are you from?: Somewhat from Bretonia, somewhat from Rheinland.

Previous Jobs/Roles:
Freelance mercenary, scavenger, scrapper in Bretonia up til my mid-thirties. Had to move to Rheinland due to some issues, pretty much did the same thing over there. Got force-drafted into the Rheinland Military soon after, spent a few years on Hamburg as a dropship pilot. Was transferred to the primary fleet soon after. Retired from duty after two years of service there, was transferred to the RFP Secondary Department later on. Left Rheinland and returned to my more exploratory roots around a year ago.

Detailed Background, a Paragraph (the more we can learn about you, the better):

Hmmm. As far as I know, I was born in Rheinland, technically speaking, even though my parents were of Bretonian origin. As far as I can recall, they both were self-employed freelance traders and scrap-runners, operating with small deliveries for smaller companies and our own depots between the two houses. I do not think I ever met my grandparents, but if I did, I was too young to remember at that point. Freelancing was a big deal as far as family culture is concerned, so I was sort of expected to follow in their footsteps.

I ''inherited'' my mother's old ship when she decided I was old enough to be trusted with one (Long after I had my basic training done, I must add), while she herself already had purchased a better one, so me and a few friends I made on Trafalgar during my childhood started up a small salvage operation not far from the depot. Nothing really outstanding so far, we mostly sold valuable scrap components right back to Trafalgar docks, until the ban on salvage operations took place, at which point we were forced to part ways and find better sources of profit.

I was rather good with flying back in those days, so I quickly volunteered for one of the patrol wings in order to get some more experience, but at some point I decided to drop that particular flag altogether and become a freelance mercenary instead. Sadly, one of the contracts I had ended up being issued by some sort of criminal wannabe, so when they got cracked down on, I got caught in the blast. I emigrated to Rheinland soon after that happened.

The next ten years or so, nothing outstanding happened either. Shot things, hauled things. Really, at this point if you wanted to hear a heart-tugging tale of self-sacrifice or huge accomplishments, you should just grab a seat and a beer and wait till I am done. One of the more note-worthy events that happened was the Chancellor's act of involuntary drafting that happened around that time. Since I was, technically, Rheinland-born, I ended up on Hamburg as a dropship pilot for the ground forces. A few years of service allowed me to get back into space, but not without having to join the fleet in the process.

I cannot really say anything bad about my time there either, but once the chance was given, I took an early retirement of sorts and landed a much more quiet position within the RFP secondary office. Pratted around there for a while, before finally being able to slip away without anyone noticing, so I've been avoiding Rheinland ever since.

I got back to my original hobby a year or so ago, but frankly, it seems that a lot has changed over the last few years. It seems as though it is rather impossible to be flying without a group of friends at your side, so here I am. Perhaps I might even be considered useful while I am at it.

Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you bring to JM?:
Honestly? I miss flying while representing a flag. Call it the remains of military training or whatever. Really, the things I remember best about my time in Rheinland was flying with the friends I made there. I, honestly, miss that. I miss flying a flag, an ideal. And as far as usefulness goes, I am a retired military solder and police officer. Take it for what it is worth.

How long have you been playing Freelancer Discovery for?:
A few years with some pauses in-between.
How long have you played a Junker character for, if at all? (Not important, it's just useful to know if you've played a Junker before. We accept both people who have and people who haven't played a Junker before):
I have played plenty of Junkers, but mostly as smugglers. The last ''pirate'' type Junker I played was from way back when we could still pirate in house space, so I am eager to see how things have changed.
In your own words, how would you define a Quasi-Lawful?:
Tricky question. Skirting on the edge of the law would be the best example. An opportunist, who takes their chance whenever they possibly can, but with the rest of their affiliates in mind. Slipping between the friendliness of both goodies and baddies and those in between for their own benefit and the benefit of their kind.
How familiar are you with the Borderworlds?:
I am familiar with the Borderwolds from a gameplay perspective in the sense of base location and piracy spots. I also know the lore behind most of the systems involved.
How familiar are you with smuggling?:
Familiar enough, but not something I am looking to focus on at this time.
How familiar are you with piracy?:
Enjoy it a lot, which will make playing Tauber- a naturally ''friendly'' person as one all the more interesting.
What factions have you been in previously?:
RM
Why do you want to join the Junker Marauders? What can you offer?:
I want to further evolve an old character of mine and offer my roleplay input and contributions as I do.
Finally, what is your Skype?:
-

RE: Junker Marauders Recruitment - Vlad - 05-11-2015

Name: Vlad

Age: 22

Place of Origin: Planet Manhattan

Previous jobs/roles: Piracy Liberty Space

Reason for applying for the Junker Marauders: One of reasons ---> I like Junker Maradeus Wink

A Small Paragraph about you: So I was born on Manhattan, Surprisingly I did well in school and at uni and managed to get myself a degree in engineering. The problem for me lay in the fact that I was unable to get a job because of the countless other people that also had a degree in this subject. So I turned to Smuggling (on this note I have been caught by the navy albeit only once, I hope this wont affect my application -- LINK --). Although I was forced to turn to smuggling simply to survive I found I really liked it, so much so that I joined up with a bunch of junkers on Rochester, whilst smuggling still rakes in a nice profit it's become dull, I crave something more exciting, which is why im here.

Finally, your S.K.Y.P.3 protocol, if you please: vlad.birca3
