Liberty Navy [LN] - Iago - 07-03-2009 ...Secret Channel Open... ...Signal found... ...Incoming Transmission... From: Codename 'IAGO' To: Bretonian Armed Forces HQ, MI-5, MI-6 Cc: Liberty Security Forces, BHG, CR, IMG Object: GST SECRET NUKE CONVOY Status: TOP SECRET/URGENT Following informations were collected by me. 1.1. The GST has been hired by an unlawful faction or some unlawful factions to smuggle NUCLEAR DEVICES from System Newcastle (Bretonia), to the Omicrons. Implication of the Corsair or the Outcast faction is obvious. Maybe the two of them are waiting for this highly unwanted technology transfer. 1.2. The GST has already been paid 100.000.000$ for this very sepcial operation. Its leaders CEO John Burton and vice-CEO are planning this convoy at any price. Which means they're ready to sacrifice a whole S-Wing squadron to make sure their freighters will reach their destination. 2.1 The GST convoy will start on July 4 3009 from Newcastle at 9:00pm (GMT/CUT+1). I don't need to tell you where they could get these nukes from, normally. But I have no evidence the GST is getting these devices from the Mollys. Maybe they just stored the material on lawful bases in Newcastle. As you all know, there has been some 'security problems' in Newcastle's safiest official Nuclear Devices Stocking Facilities. 2.2. Security Leader of the GST S-Wing squadron will probably be Lt. Takeshi Kitano, piloting a Raven's Talon for years. He is, like GST Security Adviser Lt. Kusanagi, a former member of KNF (7th special unit 'Kagemucha') and it is not sure yet wether he's lost all contacts to some members of KNF Intelligence. These may be the last and most precise informations I will be able to collect on that operation. Alas, I was not allowed to participate in this action and will not be able to help you from inside the Convoy. IAGO. ...Transmission ending... ...Signal Lost... ...Secret Channel Closed... Liberty Navy [LN] - casero - 07-04-2009 Thanks, but this is the [LN] feedback. Here you can give us your opinion about the LN Liberty Navy [LN] - Quorg - 07-04-2009 Hi there, I realize that it can be hard to maintain good RP in Liberty space. After all, New York tends to attract a lot of poor behavior. It is important, then, that LN members know the rules . This is especially true of the Liberty Navy Guard, which has a specific role and is bound to follow the Guard ID which does not allow Liberty Navy Guard ships to destroy traders unless they are either Rheinland traders or are carrying allied pilots. In other words, the Liberty Navy Guard cannot destroy traders for refusing to drop contraband such as slaves and Cardamine. I had an incident today with a certain member of your faction who was Guard tagged and ID'd and attempted to do precisely this. Thankfully, due partially to his willingness to talk in character (in spite of his unwillingness to read his ID) an due partially to his lack of a better-equipped ship, I was able to escape. Now in the past I've had some great experiences with some of your members. Besides that, a good chase is usually a nice break from the usual grind. However, being attacked in violation of an ID doesn't make for an entirely positive experience. I hope that we are able to clear things up quickly to prevent future misunderstandings, and look forward to your prompt reply. Thank you. (For reference, here is a copy of the Guard ID): Liberty Navy Guard ID Pilot carrying this ID is in the Liberty Navy Guard, who: * Can destroy traders in Liberty who belong to corporations headquartered in Houses that Liberty is at war with if the trader refuses to drop all cargo and leave Liberty. * Can escort traders * Can operate within Alaska and Nomad infested systems (excluding Omicron Alpha and Gamma) * Can only demand allied pilots and destroy ships if they refuse to hand them over * Can hunt pirates and terrorists within their Zone of Influence * Cannot ally with any unlawfuls except with the Xenos against non-Liberty pirate or military invasions * Cannot participate in any unlawful actions * Cannot fulfill bounty contracts * Cannot use any transports with more than 1000 cargo Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports, Gunboats, Cruisers, Battleships Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime. Entering the Alaska system is not sanctionable if your ID does not say you can lawfully do so. It just means that there may be in-character consequences if you are not lawfully allowed. Liberty Navy [LN] - JakeSG - 07-06-2009 That ID is out of date. It also does not specify what a person bearing it may do concerning contraband, which has been an issue in the past. I don't think we ever received an answer for it, either. Personally I assume that the same line as the regular LN ID applies, which states that we cannot demand contraband in New York, Colorado or California, leaving us with Texas (And a few other systems, but those don't really count.) I just don't want this to continue being an issue... sorting this matter out will help me (and probably other players with smuggler characters) determine how to interact with the LN Guard. Liberty Navy [LN] - JakeSG - 07-06-2009 ' Wrote:Just to clarify, then- is it [LN] policy to have its Guard vessels adhere to what the ID actually says, or to what they want the ID to say?As I said, we asked for clarification once and none was given. It is my belief however that in situations when the Guard ID's are ambiguous, they act like expansions to the regular ID's. Perhaps I am wrong, but when I next find one I'll ask an Admin. Liberty Navy [LN] - casero - 07-06-2009 Also, take note that we may not be able to demand contraband, but we can stop you and hold you until the LPI or the LSF come. Use common sense, you won't be smuggling 4000 units of cardamine/artifacts/slaves in front of a navy officer and think that you're get out without problems. Liberty Navy [LN] - Quorg - 07-07-2009 Thanks for the replies. It would be nice to get some admin clarification, although it seems that you have tried in the past to no avail. I certainly hope that the ID ambiguity is fixed soon. It seems strange that every lawful faction considers itself immune to the caps vs. traders rule, but it seems that particular rule is de facto suspended. Until then, I will assume that [LN] vessels will engage any smuggler they find regardless of ship size or ID. See you in space! (Hopefully before you see me... heh) Liberty Navy [LN] - Spear - 07-07-2009 ' Wrote:Until then, I will assume that [LN] vessels will engage any smuggler they find regardless of ship size or ID. I don't think that's true, you may be stopped by an indie in a Cruiser or above, but no official [LN] is stopping smugglers in Cruisers or larger, theres no ambiguity in this, attacking trade ship's in a Cruiser or larger is against server rules. Liberty Navy [LN] - n00bl3t - 07-26-2009 When did [LN] stop enforcing the payment for being an Arms Dealer in Liberty? |
