How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Shryke - 11-05-2010 Well of course it's not complete sterility. Outcasts would've died out a while ago then. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - DarthBindo - 11-05-2010 @ Teek. As i see it. The Corsairs tried that, with the docking issue. They got told to take a hike, we are zoners, you need us, lololol. Then they got angry, and got other sources of food. Now they are out to enforce what they originally wanted. NO OUTCAST SHIPS USING THETA AS A FREE PASS. This is a perennial issue. I counted ,and found four seperate incidents, just related to freeport 9 and docking rights. When you count the other freeports, its something like a dozen. The difference is, teh freeport 9 issue never gets well and truely solved. What ended up happening the last time, is the Zoners basically said, "we will try harder to enforce the rules already in place." Now....hopefully...it can finally be solved, once and for all. Also...Yes, they are expected to get the stick. Beacuse they are refusing the carrot. also. New study shows: Corsairs Better Armed, More Numerous, More SKilled, and More Organized than Zoners. Case in point.... We were showing RESTRAINT today, only using seven legates and two ossies. There were probably a dozen other independents in gamma we could have tapped, and a lot of alts with legates. Can you imagine a thirty legate raid? HAHAHA. IT WOULD BE TOTALLY EPIC. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Lunaphase - 11-05-2010 Bindo, its that attitude which shows you have a complete disreguard for your factions other existing wars. Bringing that much firepower away from defence or other warfronts means increased pressure from those other places. RP wise, the corsairs dont even HAVE twelve legates to spare on a dammed freeport at the moment, since your deadlocked on all sides. You are quite litterally now surrounded by enemies, and yet you refuse to take that into account. Ignoring the fact that the outcasts just use eta ANYWAY since its a regular ghost town, the whole war was started by no-rp pvp whoring individuals who barely even met the rules-required rp before attack, nevermind anything worth while, and the Corsairs as a whole not only ignored this, but instead jumped on the bandwagon. OF COURSE Zoners arent going to be willing to come to peace, because every single time they try a mortar to the face is what they recive. Its the same with the BHG-zoner war. This whole thing was based on somthing that the zoners cannot do or break their only lore that hasnt already been stripped from them by force. Also, Each and every time the Zoners have come to the table, within a day another no-rp raid happens with cap spam, mortaring the freeport. If you are going to critizise Zoners for not taking the stick, perhaps you should first ask yourself, "would I want a stick up the arse?". Enough said. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Vince - 11-05-2010 The Sairs have always been surrounded by enemies. This is precisely the reason why Theta has become such a thorn in our side. Escpecially the 9. Enemies has used it as a gate to get straight into gamma. I cant believe it has taken us so long to declare that Theta is under corsair control. Any Military retard will make that desiscion. It makes sense. RP Sense in every way. I dont understand why everyone is moaning and groaning about this. As for the number of Legates we have? That is irrelevent is it not? Since the zoners all of a sudden have the military prowess to take on a warmongering corsair nation. Where did your military come from all of a sudden. The solution to this, is easy. The terms has been stated by the sairs. Those are perfect RP terms and like I said, makes perfect military sense. As we would have one more system to use as a buffer that protects gamma, and have the means to secure etna jump hole. I agree this has gotten out ouf hand. But all of the corsair player are RP irritated and frustrtated about the seemingly stubburnness of the zoners on 9. I really dont see RP wise, how they would stand up against a nation of warriors..Remember what Bacon said..about the 16 year old sairs. They could have tried other approaches using diplomacy, the think zoners have mastered..That is their strenght. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Chico - 11-05-2010 Having read the first 9 pages and the last couple (I admit I missed a few between 9 and about 12), I can't help but get the feeling that most of you have missed the point. Constant arguing about a problem that is of little concern to the issue at hand i.e food. That commodity has been flowing in. We could all point ot various screens of ships docking loaded to the gunwhales with food, not unlike what the Zoners have been doing regarding the blockade in Theta. Does it prove anything in the minds of others? I think not. The issue is not about food but just to put your minds at ease, the Corsairs existed before the Zoners arrived and had already become very advanced in ship building. There was obviously enough food there for them to achieve this position. Of course there would be starvation for the people should the Zoner issue not be resolved but it would balance out again and the wars would go on. If you think different, you are missing the point. The singular threat that is Freeport 9 is a new threat. The issue is not food here but the survival of the Corsair people. They cannot allow the base to be used constantly by their enemies to attack the Empire. Food is irrelevant at this point. They either become extinct now at the hands of their enemies or they don't. There is no choice to make. Starvation is a long term thing, plasma is pretty instant. There are plenty of groups within Sirius who would like to 'move it along' a little with regard to the Corsairs. The ]o[ are the specific group of wouldbe Zoners who have a problem with the Corsairs. There are plenty of others who are happy with the arrangements we have made and that have been in place for a long time. So much so that a convoy arrived late last night. I am going to take a quote from another thread which tried to explain a few things from a corsair perspective regarding the history of the area: Quote:The Freeport in Theta has always been a source of contention. I mean since the beginings of time. It is still happening and it's exclusive to FP9. This has nothing to do with Zoners generally. This has little to do with Corfu and to be fair, little to do with Theta. These have become embroiled with the situation due to the intractability of the Zoners operating Freeport 9. The Corsairs can no longer rely on the these Omicroners ability to be neutral and so have been forced to place Theta under martial law almost entirely because of the actions of one base. One base which has a compliment of 100 souls. One base that can apparantly withstand the might of an Empire that has fought a House for years, fought two of Sirius' largest pirate factions to a standstill, is at war with almost every other pirate faction and can't take a tiny base next door.... Now the empire has made some pretty reasonable demands of that Freeport considering whats happened and restated their aims. It remains to be seen what the outcome will be. Lastly, Quote:People confuse lower birthrates with sterility, same as they confuse occasional cannibalism to constant cannibalism. Why is it that only Senor Jameson seems to be able to see this? It so obviously applies. Kudos to you sir. How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Not Espi - 11-05-2010 lets draw a general timeline of this conflict here. feel free to correct me if im wrong: - ever since zoners arrived to corsair space, they are observed as a necessity, rahter than friends (by corsairs). - since then, corsairs find other sources of food - hogosha(with samura and FA), IND, junkers, piracy. this was done because the council fell it was not a smart thing to do to be dependent on one food source. - anarchists pop up, they shoot zoners with sails - zoners stop delivering food and form a counter alliance with order, gmg and outcasts. thus are no longer viewed as useful, additionally to that, a threat - thus attacked by most corsairs. (note that the Borhterhood Flagship Artemis was crippled iRP in this fight by the zoners. and the artemis with most corsairs were attacking the NTF at that time.) - ever since there was an open conflict between corsairs and zoners - sephardi (zelot) initiates peace talks on fp9. one session is done and afterwards he is not invited to the talks - after some time, the conflicts cease. things return to rouhgly what it was before anarchists arrived - when everything is calm, fp9 representatives announce they deny docking rights to corsair factions. that is what pisses the corsairs off - current lockade and martial law implied by corsairs something i should add? - How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - globalplayer-svk - 11-05-2010 ' Wrote:and last thing... :rtfm: How a player faction excludes a characteristic of the NPC faction - Pihe - 11-05-2010 ' Wrote:lets draw a general timeline of this conflict here. feel free to correct me if im wrong: Yes, explain why did the event bellow happen, it would give more perspective on the matter.
