The Order is much more about diplomacy than they seem to be played as.
The last great diplomacy attempt I remember was Aki Kimura getting kicked out of Kusari by just about everybody.
Barring Liberty, there's a lot of stuff to set up with Bretonia, Kusari and Rheinland diplomatically. For example, extensive negotiations that allow you to operate a base ship plus fighter escort in each house, the right to lawfully scan and confiscate nomad do-hickies on passers-by without getting told off by the locals for piracy, generally raising awareness of the everpresent nomad threat amongst the regimes in those three houses and exerting pressure to cease killing each other in favour of helping to eliminate the nomads.
Maybe I wasn't looking, but I don't think any of those have been elaborated on by anybody in the Order, who've been concentrating more on playing politics than elevating themselves above the problems of factions and facing the danger facing every human.
The Order is about the only faction who can have military ties to factions who usually shoot at each other, and should be able to stop, or at least lessen the scale of confrontations between enemies in favour of the "greater good". I see far too much "We must stop the nomads!!!" and not enough "Here's how...".
As to the conduct of the Order| faction, I too have been a victim of the 'Do what I say because I outrank you' rubbish. Of course, I told the guy to jog on. Can't kick my Order Guard IDd and tagged ass out of Omicron 100 :cool:

Onxe I accidently did that as me and Pyro escorted two ships around,thr lolcrons. I defaulted because of Jeremy's RP. Luckily Killjoy didnt really mind.

But Jeremy (the char) will be in Bretonia, opening up RP regarding Newcastle.
I've started it for Bretonia after the NLH got buddy with nomnom (No offence sad!) And yet another alliance dies.

Alright. Some very valid points came out of this, among the chaff.
Good points Connor. I've been trying to set a few things up with the houses, but lacking on time currently.
Rankwhoring is sad thing. I rarely fly my Admiral, unless needed, flying my captain and ensign characters usually. There's no need for that. We'll do our best to curb that, although a certain element of elitism exists in most factions, don't you think?
As for the indie-official gap...that problem exists to a certain extent in all factions with a large playerbase. Something that keeps coming up I'm afraid. Although the Order's relationship with unofficial groups has been generally good. Iron Legion, TOP, OSS, 63rd etc...
The most important problem'd be the lack of initiative by many members in the faction. Many are just content to sit in Minor and wait for the action to walk to them. A bit of initiative by existing members and a few new members with fresh initiative would do wonders.
As for the poor leadership...in-RP we are supposed to be poor leaders. If we had a chain of great leaders following up to the events of 4.86, that would not make a whole lot of sense now, would it? That being said, most of the "alliances" have been broken by the other side.

I thought about posting without reading anything at all. But what I realized from reading this thread is:
1. Jeremy Hunter being ignorant
2. Personal grudges supporting the number of nonconstructive posts.
With that said, the only posts to consider are right on the first two pages. However, I decided to quote some posts.

Please don't get me wrong on this-i have all respect for organizing and leading faction-group of players...we were doing it from screach in TCG|(and in some other groups we play) and i know what it's like specially with such large number of players,but 2-3-4 people just can't decide everything for everybody and involve some very nasty ego-problems in that and metagaming and power-gaming and other crap...
One does not educate people by telling them what to, leader must be example for everybody.All good leaders care about opinion of the people they lead.
Order is one of the few factions who has really open RP,it allows you to do pretty much anything(within RP canon),there is no need to be restricted like it is now,no need to be "the most boring "faction in Disco.
I think that's the main reason why is so many sub-groups in Order and why Indies are not happy with their status and leadership....btw,we never had any problems with indies-if you talk to them with respect they listen and obey,accept advices...

Regarding 'ass-lickery', here, I'm afraid, you're wrong. Nobody licks no-one's ass. I was as well to decide what and who gets into HC (I got into HC just a month or two before Golanski and Mario). I saw these two as ones having good leadership potential, and just decent enough to be called 'Admiral'. If I had some problems with either of them, it's unlikely they would be in.
Still, I do not understand how bad tensions between us and indies show us in a bad light. I would be grateful if you explained it thoroughly, with all facts mentioned.
It's good you have some sense of decency, Wizard (unlike Waratah, considering his 'verbosity').
Regarding the lack of initiative I noticed - yes, we're trying to settle up this problem. But nothing can be done within a day, so give us some time.
And the last thing I put here: please, please, please supply your rants of Order| players misbehaving with attached evidence. Without it, I'm afraid, your points are moot.

Like Connor said. Contact the RM and the BAF. They don't hate the Order by default. the Rm has domestic problems with Wilde. the Baf have a nomad base in their backyard. altough I must admit that I dont know if the baf knows about that one in rp.
So they could use a wee bit of nombuster assistance. That doesnt mean driving an ossie down there like I've seen order indies do. but be diplomatical. send a few fighters, maybe a gb escort. that's it.
Go spy on outcasts. everyone knows there's something shady going on there with regards to nom noms.
And like I said, get out of minor. Try rp-ing with the 'new' SCRA. With the LSF.
There's plenty of nom related trouble all over sirius, not just 2k from isis. So there's an alien mess to try and control. Then who ya gonna call?

RM stuff was made. we started this. but i was not able to go on with it due to RL. (edit: final exams... after that I'll be back with S-load of activity like it was before)
and yea. there are noms all over sirius.
bad thing is.
i already have ~20 order chars. but they wont be enuf to be able to hunt human threats down all over sirius.
the big ZoI of our enemies is a big pain in the ass (nothing against th ZoI but it is pain:P)

Now, looking at the results of this poll, the Order| official faction is nowhere near where it should be, as an official faction. By the looks of it, 80% of the community is not happy with what you are doing/who you are. This should be acted upon, but since this should have been acted upon months and months back, perhaps it is time to let someone else take your place. Y'know, someone who actually has a motivation to do something.
