I have recently taken over as administrator of Bethlehem station in the Pennsylvania system, and it is in need of reasonable upgrades.

Would it be possible come to an arrangement to infiltrate a team of techs to Bethlehem to upgrade the internal sensors so we can be sure to detect any infected that happen to come aboard?

Battle report: The siege of Cairo

Good day to everyone lucky enough to see it.

This is captain "Pest". I am in command of the vessels OCV-Guard and OCV-Toledo, who were the first line of defense in the battle of Cairo. The battle was hard to say the least. Reports from Zoner humanitarian aid vessels say that the Core has completely abandoned their strongholds in Zeta. It is not unlikely, that this enabled the Nomads to attack our positions with twice the numbers as they had previously planned for their attack on Cairo.
With orders from the Order high command to prioritize the evacuation of human perssonel from Cairo, I laid out a battleplan in which the evacuation efforts would be as secure as possible. But the cost was high. During the first attempt, the OCV-Toledo was guarding the Cairo-defensive perimeter. The high firepower of our large capital ships ensured that the larger Nomad warforms were unable to harm the civilian transports evacuating the Cairo crew. However, with unbelieveable numerical superiourity, the Nomad and Infectee fighters cost us the lives of dozens of our own fighter pilots. Partially, the enemy fighters were even able to attack some of the transports in the evacuation process. Therefore, in the second attempt, the newly commisioned OCV-Guard was ordered by me to bolster the Cairo defense grid and hopefully use its superiour light weaponry to turn the tide in the fighter engagements. This was quite successful, the OCV-Guard was able to take out dozens of small fighter and bombercrafts and provided valueable support against the few heavier warforms the Nomads were able to bring. Within the chaos this intervention provided a valueable opportunity: With the enemy fighters being actively hunted by the Guard, and the heavy Nomad warforms being unable to move fast within the dense rock formations of the Pohnpei Nebula, our transport fleet composed of various Order Frigates, with the much needed support from Phoenix, the New Covenant Church aswell as independent Zoners, were able to to do run after run undisturbed. We quickly finished the evacuation of crew members and other civilians of Cairo. We however, also had Orders to retrieve all the important data that Cairo, as a spy outpost, had gathered. This was successful, but costly. The Edge Nebula could only hold off the enemy capital ships for so long. When finally, a "Bismarck"- class battleship, escorted by a "Valor"- class battleship entered the battle near Cairo, our capital forces could not hold out. Several ships of the Eclipse Vanguard, who fought valiantly, were destroyed. The OCV-Tolde retreated to Taba Starbase, where it faced little to no opposition. The OCV-Guard lured several heavy and light Nomad forces away from Pohnpei, to give time for the final data extraction runs. When it was surrounded by Nomad forces however, it was badly damaged, several of the ships accompanying it were destroyed. The current status of the Guard is unknown, we do however have received weak radio signal even hours after the fighting, so it is unlikely to be destroyed.
In the aftermath of this bloody fight, we must gather all remaining forces and search for those still missing. We will not give up until the Order comes back to its old strength. In the service of mankind.

Assassination attempt report

It is with great shame that this report must be summited. A few weeks ago one of our members of The Overwatch Admiralty was targeted. Colonel Eddy Narson was boarding his personal Anubis when it exploded soon after. Miraculously, the Colonel survived the exposition, however now sits in an intensive care unit. It is unknown if he will ever recover.

Agents salvaging the wreck of the Colonel's heavy fighter discovered remnants of a bomb of unknown make. It is clear to the Overwatch now this was an assassination attempt on Colonel Eddy Narson's life. How such a bomb made its way into the Order is currently unknown but the assassin shall be located along with his/her accomplices. Report any relevant data to the Wedjat as soon as possible

OOC: About a month ago, the player known as @Slimalou decided to leave Discovery due to changes in the game and the direction it was taking. However, he did not want to make a big deal about his departure, so he left quietly, informing only the friends he had made within the community of his decision.

Since Slimalou was active on the forums, replying to messages addressed to the Overwatch, some people have still approached him on Discord regarding RP with the Order Overwatch.

To respect his decision, this post was made to let everyone know that he has left the game. He sends his best wishes to those still playing and hopes that one day he will be able to return.

Pennsylvania Incident

Since the beginning of this operation, our localized cells had been considerably augmented by means of spoofed IFF’s. After I am done in Pennsylvania I will take upon working up Rheinland operations. So, now for the actual news…

Do these fools not realize atomics are way more effective in the atmosphere than space? Granted they brought enough to wipe out themselves and the entire liner at point blank. I will give them that.

Before Lexington’s inevitable demise, someone or something ejected part of its stored warheads. Whether it was cargohold finally buckling under intense fire or someone from inside jettisoned it would at this point be unknowable. Recusant has recovered all cargo and exfiltrated safely out of the area, dodging LSF patrols in the process. Only one ship confronted Recusant after refusal of warheads sale for over a million credits: codename “Die.Wilde.Rakete”. ‘Justice’ huh? Lunatic with stupid name to boot. Liberty cell should keep an eye open if he tries anything stupid for we do not take threats lightly. Back to matter at hand: Agents on site are unable to determine yield of devices acquired. Those will be shipped to Omicrons for further study.

Recusant also maintains its cover. Recovered cargo has been transferred to the courier ship on its way to Order space so Recusant may continue its operations inside Liberty space unhindered. Expect warheads within a few days at best. If you ask me, we should detonate it inside Core’s HQ in Holstein or irradiate Nauru’s mines so much that everyone who moves down there drops dead. However, that's just my personal bucket wish list. If you have better ideas, share them. Solandros, we may need more Sirian credits to outfit the regional agents… a gunboat or two that doesn’t immediately alert everyone in light years radius concerning the Order's presence would be nice.

Losses
  • Lexington - Gateway “Percheon” class. All kidnappers and crew are presumed dead.
  • LNS Diamondback - Lost with most if not all hands.
  • Liberty’s Secretary of Commerce Aiden Haynes - onboard Diamondback during combat. Presumed dead.

Analysis

There was nothing more that could have been done. Diamondback’s fate was sealed the moment hijackers decided to go down with the ship. It is impossible to determine if the original crew of Lexington was still alive at this point. They were likely either spaced out of the airlock beforehand or perished at ground zero of explosion. Even if the situation permitted for the immediate arrival of a rescue team - Order or otherwise - they would have undoubtedly been caught in the blast together with both Lexington and Diamondback and subsequently lost.

New Dawn surprisingly did not execute Liberty ship on the spot, prioritizing destruction of Lexington and its nuclear payload. Affiliation of Lexington’s kidnappers unknown. One likely theory involves a radical subgroup of Erie Militants eager to acquire some more devastating hardware. We may never know.
