Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - jpo - 11-10-2008 ' Wrote:Yes, but you ignore the fact that the admin team has too much on their plate to make sure the server is "fun" for everyone. Quote:If the true problem is that soo many people are OORP that it is hurting life as a pirate and the admin team needs more people to police that, I would agree to whatever changes had to be made.Yes, I completely ignored that, and by completely ignored I mean directly addressed. Quote:Explain to me why a player should be able to abuse his big ship by whoring the little guyHmmm. A battleship vs a fighter ~ the fighter has no prayer. A bomber vs a whale ~ whale has no prayer. I guess for the same reason. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - cal823 - 11-10-2008 I think that all cap ships should require a go ahead from the appropiate faction before buying one. Why? because they dont sell em on the open market like smaller ships, they build them for a specific purpose. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - Seth Karlo - 11-10-2008 Well, whenever I am in command when other LN are online, I alway's send some people to California, Texas, Colorado, leave a couple in NY, I might patrol Bering becuase of the tensions between Rhienland and Liberty right now etc etc. We do try this stuff, but people do seem to focus on what we get wrong rather than what we get right...:( Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - Tomtomrawr - 11-10-2008 ' Wrote:Now, I feel I need to write some explanation of this given it's not going to make me a popular man. I'm sorry i do not have time to go through the 17 pages of this thread, but from the first post i think your right. I recently made an LNS character, rather new (LNS-Oregon, Liberty Cruiser) and i am now considering changing it to a Rhienland cruiser. I think the reason that so many people choose Liberty is because that is where the most action is. There are always pirate attacks on New York like everyday, it's quite oorp for attacks of that scale everyday (dreadnaughts and batleships), but now i'm gona go and buy a Rhienland cruiser i think, i wanted one in the first place. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - kingvaillant - 11-10-2008 Now something people must understand. Indies and factionalized members; RESPECT MUST GO BOTH WAYS If there is one thing I hate, it is a facton member menacing an indie of demotion, when the member himself is in no position to do so (unless HC of a faction). It is not only about respect Out-of-char, like on Skype, but also respect in RP, in game. If you ask an other to shove off impolitely or make treats, what do you expect ffs? Same thing for indies doubting the faction affiliation of the member (Alias, "you ain't really in "X" faction") I also deeply dislike peeps "RP whining" in system chat. If you have an issue with a co-worker at job, will you go in the cafeteria and yell out loud what you think about the guy? Of course NOT! You'll keep it private! Exactly, it's a laugh when factions get 5 bombers and go whoring cap ships, then post here about cap whores, then go whining to their admin buddies to get people sanctioned, insult people in threads that the admins set up so the person being insulted can't reply, and then come here and whine some more about indies. ' Wrote:RESPECT MUST GO BOTH WAYS That's actually funny. Respect has to start at the top here, and it doesn't. AC Merc in his farewell thread pretty much spelled it out how this server is run. Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - Derkylos - 11-10-2008 I'll second the motion that you spread out more. Whenever I'm looking for a LN ship (usually to report smugglers, etc), I always find them in New York. Rarely are they elsewhere. Colorado is always newbs. My Bretonian gunboat will patrol everywhere that the trade lanes broadcast a BAF IFF, and you can too (except you're looking for Navy IFF...). That makes...New York, Colorado, California, Texas, Bering, Hudson, Kepler, Gallileo, Magellan, and Cortez, not to mention the new systems. If you even put one vessel in each system, that's 9(!) ships out of new york already...the capwhorage can't be that bad...can it? Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - torchwood - 11-10-2008 i have Sent my Cruiser history and report to admiral John Talon. until i get a reply i will go with this. i will decomission my cruiser for now, and if it needs to be, ( AKA my cruiser is denied )i will decomission it all together Regarding the restriction on Liberty caps - Rudo - 11-10-2008 ' Wrote:Hmmm. There is a VAST difference between pirate-trader and police-pirate RoE. The pirate must make a demand and the trader only dooms himself by refusing to comply. The law officer is not bound by this rule and is weapons-free on sight (within the bounds of proper roleplay) I rarely receive an offer for an alternative end to a confrontation on my lawful or unlawful characters when confronted by the other side. This isn't a call for police/pirate players to be required to make a demand and allow enemies to leave if they comply. But this difference in relationships is a point that shouldn't be omitted when someone brings up ship balance. EVERYONE must speak at least one sentence of RP before engaging anyone, or you could end up sanctioned. :$ |
