We need a GMG Player faction. - Orin - 10-04-2008 Hm, request got locked. Did you guys pay up yet? I can add on some credits to the fee. @Athenian: Three GBs will be used. As the core defenders of our space, and also a intimidation factor of the GMG's presence. The fact is, it's been hundreds of years since the GMG beat down Rheinland. They used sneak attacks and bombers back then, but it's been a long time. Building an exclusive fleet of slightly heavier armored defense ships is not an odd thing to do after all that time. Tactics change, no overly so, but they do nonetheless. Nearly every faction uses a cap of some kind, three GBs isn't out of their RP, and fits rather well. We need a GMG Player faction. - Blodo - 10-04-2008 Didn't I describe already one or two pages earlier why GMG tactics would not change.. ? They aren't a military, they don't intimidate... We need a GMG Player faction. - Orin - 10-04-2008 Are you still against the three GBs? I thought we already agreed on that? We need a GMG Player faction. - Blodo - 10-05-2008 How about we wait with the GBs until the faction is bigger? We need a GMG Player faction. - Athenian - 10-05-2008 Even one gunboat on a shared account is enough. It's about perception. An emerging GMG faction that uses other faction ships for no reason other than to have gunboats dilutes the sense of this being the GMG faction. Three active GB's suggests a priority other than a mining faction. Ship choice doesn't make a faction but it raises the profile and adds to the authentic feel of a group if it is limited and restricted in its choice, rather than expansive, if you get my drift. I'd extend this to cover the generic trade ships - the GMG miner and Whale make the use of adv trains and so forth unnecessary. As I said, this is to do with perception. Just because some (badly worked out) ID card ALLOWS you to fly something big doesn't mean you actually SHOULD. We need a GMG Player faction. - SevereTrinity - 10-05-2008 GMG within RP should can Kusari Explorer's, they basically own the ships, they use them for scouting out new Gas Fields, so hence, we would use them for that very purpose We need a GMG Player faction. - Athenian - 10-05-2008 Wrong thread...sorry We need a GMG Player faction. - Orin - 10-05-2008 ' Wrote:How about we wait with the GBs until the faction is bigger?Well, Severe already has one in service, but that's a fine idea. The ID actually allows us bloody battleships. I think using a few GBs at one point in sufficient moderation works fine.
