Leeds is vital for the Liberty. Beyond that Bretonia it is whether commercial or military staunch ally (NATO), right through that system Gaul Forces infiltrate Magellan and instability throughout the region. Liberty needs the war begins to sway in his favor and to realize the withdrawal of all forces to Gaul central core.
Remember that Liberty already has its direct war with the house of Rheinland and relations with the Empire Kusarian are cooling much, to the point that recently there was friction between the KNF and [LN] with mutual accusations and diplomatic conflicts.

Plot Twist: Colonial Republic stabs Liberty & Bretonia in the back and does military takeover of Cortez while they are busy throwing the bulk of their own forces against Gallia. In the aftermath, neither force will have enough left to oust the occupiers from their newly conquered territory, leaving the Republic splitting the allies in two, and adding new depths of antagonism to the region as they seek to hold onto their gains.
