I doubt it would have been nearly so fun had the Respawn rule not been suspended.

Ships need to be re-balanced, as the problem is twofold.
People go for the better ships.
The better ships naturally win even without the number advantage.

But, other than that, and even including that, I really enjoyed it.
It wasn't hardcore RP, a bit lulzy, but that's as much as could be expected for an unlimited-re-engagement fight. I was quite happy with it, anyway. Got some good training in, I don't get a lot of that.

Also, if you wish to curtail constant /restart-ing, put the spawn points in far-off systems like Omega 7 and Kyushu so that travel time between the starting base and the fight area is extended enough to make trips unpleasant.

The Fatty Bretonian Family turned the tide! Yus!

So what, the Bretonian ships have a slight disadvantage, really that battle showed that it's more about grouping up and have co-ordination if anything else.

Oh and one more thing. Me and my team we basically took ammunitions from our enemies, and sold them, then we piled the money up to one guy so he could start uppgrading things. It is a fun way to do it, and I don't mind if others get some better weapons or not. It's just a game...

Just wanted to mention something Athenian regarding this weaponry problem.

I mean, the way I look at it, you have two choices here.

Either you are going to allow people buying/uppgrading weaponry/equipment stuff or you simply put a nice rule saying: "The weapons that come originally should not be replaced in any way, doing so leads to X punishment."

Personally, as I said I don't mind if other cheat and give themselves cash or something, they just destroy their own fun.

I found it hilariously funny to fight as a group stealing ammo and whatnot, piling up cash and help each other out buying new stuff. But then again, you gotta face human nature, some people will do anything to win, hell I wouldn't be surprised if someone magically got their hands on an armor uppgrade.

So yeah, as I said, either put a rule on this issue, or let it play out on its own.

Other than that, the Role-Play was amusing and interesting. The Re-engagements where a nice addition in my opinion, but I suggest moving this battle to a more "remote" area. Say, Dundee system.

I hope this is rerun soon, as I'm a bit annoyed I missed it...

Maybe something similar could be set up between the OC and Corsairs... The Legionaire and Dagger arn't far off one another in terms of balance, and a little playtesting could make that work really nicely.

Or, as was posited in Teamspeak, Liberty and Rheinland.

That one would need a bit more tweakage though.

I was thinking the same. Simultaneously nerfing the Valkyrie and buffing the Defender to around the level of the Crusader and Dragon would make an event like this work nicely in Hudson or so.

* Boss gags and splutters

Make them even, dammit, not like the Crusader and Dragon.

I meant putting them on a level somewhere inbetween both. Even.:PThe Crusader and Dragon are a lot closer to eachother than the Defender and Valkyrie.
