However, Gallic Junkers dont have hostile rep with Lib Enforcers or with the Outcasts, opening up another route for smuggling.
and dependent on where they go, they could easily mine premium scrap or buy ore for the return trip.

Gallic Junkers used to get on very well with the Crown because they were their spies in Sirius before the invasion. They have been somewhat discarded, so I've always considered one of their primary goals as regaining that favour (the new 'privateer' ID will help).
Their extensive work for the Crown, contrary to the goals of the Council, has left them greatly distrusted by them, and hated by the Maquis. There's some really vague stuff about tensions with the Unione Corse, but they are still willing to work with each other (there's also a rumour about a Brigand-Corse war that has nothing more developed). The Brigands don't really care and will do business with anyone.

As for out of Gallia stuff, the closest group would be the Outcasts. The GJ were forced to build Torino in Lorraine, but afterwards they have become the preferred group for spreading Cardamine into Gallia (although they also sell it to the Brigands).
The privateering would be mostly against Liberty and Bretonia, but they could be hired by GMS, Solar or EFL to harry the IMG as well (ensuring Gallic dominance in the area etc. while IDF get on fairly well with them), acting as a deniable asset in the same way as the QCP.
They could get on well with Kusari and Rheinland, or get greedy and target them too.

Due to people abusing GJ ID for indiscriminate piracy while basing off of lawful planets and stations Gallic Junkers were close to be banned from Rheinland at some point, but with activity crisis that problem dissapeared. We'll see how it goes in the next mod, when their ID is fixed.

i was considering getting the faction of the ground, but that seems a lot harder than just an unofficial

Yeah, given there have been very few player-driven efforts (compared to most, similar to Synth).

anyone got any ideas on how to get the faction of the ground? ive read the pinned faction creation posts and am still curious, do i need to build a strong base of members before applying?

im gonna start to put together the RP.

I'd suggest you make a new thread if you're wanting to make a faction. You need a minimum of five members to go for officialdom, but you'll want a lot more than that and to have been stable for a few months before you go for that. There are also some not-so-old threads with similar questions and ideas, might be worth giving them a look.

I've been in several GJ factions, I used to be a fairly big player, but then when it lost its neutral reps, and my character got captured by the Libs, I mostly dropped out.

The fact is Gallia has two semi lawful factions when it doesnt need them. Until thats sorted there'l always be problems.

its hostile with only kusari and bretonia, and then only with kusari enforcers. unione corse is not welcomed by liberty, which has a massive concentration of PoBs to smuggle to.

RE: Getting the Gallic Junkers Off the Ground - SummerMcLovin - 07-19-2013

Forgot that Kusari dislikes Junkers, I guess no matter where they are from. I don't really know why Liberty is ok with you, guess it is just an opening for some work. Bretonia is fair enough as is though.

The Corse are actually alright everywhere (even with weird rephacks, likely from past factions/players) except Bretonia where they are mistrusted. They have been added to the Liberty exception for Gallic ships in their space from past work with Cryocubes, the rephacks were requested to be removed some time ago too.
