Shields upgrades, buffing shield regen/capacity, pick between armor or shields to make people not just go all hull damage. Especially towards capitali ships. Shields on them is too damn low. Regular cap can have 3 million hull, but half a mil shield only. That is way too strange. Capital ship fights end up too fast. BS vs BS fight is one minute fight. Cruisers can fight little longer. GBs is two minutes or so. Snubs? They can fight for hours. Bomber whores can cry a river about how they underpowered and snac being nerfed - the fact that SNAC even exists already a blessing for them to be killeverything mashines. SNACing snubs is 50% of how people use their snacs. Two-three bombers can easilly own everything right now. Can three fighters kill GB? No. Can two GBs kill cruiser? No. (noobs vs pros doesnt count). True bombers need to carry torpedos anyway. Sadly FL bugs sometimes that Novas dont do damage at all, while SNAC just perfect and ammoless. I love how in EVE some ships have bigger shields then armor, and more possibility to increase them too. I already saw shield upgrades in other FL mods, its not that hard to make them here too. They can fight for hours. Umad? No, seriosly? BS vs BS fight lasts one minute only if BSs charge into each other. Cruiser combat is usually 5 minute one. And gunboat can last for half of hour, because you can shieldrun on GB. As for shields-maybe BS one need buff in capacity, not in regen. About SNAC: you can't snac VHF in bomber, except for it flying in straight lines. Or you're very-very lucky. Three bombers is enough to kill lone capship, nothing more. Three fighters can kill gunboat, 2 gunboats can kill cruiser. And this's not about pros vs noobs. SNAC is missing alot except on BS, or endangers bomber. RE: buff shields nerf hull - djordje_petrovic - 09-08-2013 I like this idea , but it needs to recalculate i suppose some things again. Maybe easiest thing is to share hull/shield damage ratio from 2/1 to 3/1 for hull buster weapon types. That thing would improve use of pure EMP weapons. I would go even further that EMP salvo effect on ships powercore while shield powered down, be 2-3 times greater then present. So when you down cap ship shields you can incapacipate it for firing even further. Personally i flew EMP cruiser with 4 pulses in several engagements and in combined force it is very fun to play. |
