RE: Why do versions take so long? - Xenosaga - 09-07-2013 1. Like many people said, it's kind of a "democratic" process. Actually agreeing on doing something takes some time. The community must accept it too, after all. 2. The modders are probably working or studying full-time Though I partly agree with you about balance issues. There are ships and guns in this mod which are objectively and ridiculously outclassed. Tweaking their numbers and releasing a micro patch through the updater shouldn't be that much of a problem. RE: Why do versions take so long? - Lonely_Ghost - 09-07-2013 Yeah, it's indeed, two sides of a medal. On the one side, developing mod is not a job. People "sacrifice" their time doing stuff for us, and, why would we just be more pathient? No one going to hurt, or suffer, if mod's relice shall be delayed? And, in the end of all, Discovery freelancer is not the only game... Myself, I just found, that I have old CD's with Rome Total War, and decided to conquer europe another time. On the other hand. If you are indeed sacrificing (inf full meaining of this word) your time and effort, doing discovery mod developing, why not to stand away? Im mostly sure, there are members in our community, who could aid Disco develop. team, and then join it. RE: Why do versions take so long? - Zayne Carrick - 09-07-2013 Saronsen to .88 lead dev! If you want to keep people interested, you can't only release every two or three years. RE: Why do versions take so long? - tothebonezone - 09-07-2013 Nope. I know the reasons why now, and how it could be fixed. Unfortunately circumstances (Such as me not being an admin/lead dev) makes it impossible for me to fix. Just took my army through the Alps, and am currently in Cisalpine Gaul attacking Rome from the North, while I launch seaborn raids to sack cities in the south. RE: Why do versions take so long? - tothebonezone - 09-07-2013 Lolwhat Hone. That and your ADHD. RE: Why do versions take so long? - Jack_Henderson - 09-07-2013 Pay the developers 2-3k Euro / month each and I bet it will be fast. RE: Why do versions take so long? - Hyakutake - 09-07-2013 Didnt Camtheman offer to buy disco for $10k? Maybe the devs could cut a deal. |
