Enemy NPC ships and the cheapness they are >:3 - GaryStargazer - 07-19-2008 I dont know, frankly the normal groups of fighters are not even a threat at high lvs so why have an increased AI anyways? it just makes them take longer to kill or people just ignore them completely, it seems all this does is make lowbies have to put up with a really annoying AI that jerks and spasms in random directions like no human could actually do. Enemy NPC ships and the cheapness they are >:3 - Jinx - 07-19-2008 well, they are stronger so that they are not only cannonfodder. - we, as a part of a community ( no, not the disco community - but our chars as part of sirius ) are not really supposed to be different to the NPCs. a corsair named "maria gonzales" in a titan that is a NPC is to be treated the same way that a char named "francisco martinez" in a titan that is a player. of course, thats not possible - but its a little bit of illusion the mod tries to create. - NPCs are not supposed to be "annoying" - they are supposed to be dangerous. off of all the NPCs, the ones i like the most are stationary battleships. - when i am friendly to them and my enemy is not, i can flee to them and they WILL protect me. - i wish it was the same with NPC fighters. right now, your own NPC fighters are almost more annoying to have than not to have. - when i don t have them, i can nuke mine you for example - when these guys are around i cannot do it - and when its about efficiency - me nuke mining you is more efficient than having 4 of my NPC buddies that miss you all the time. the matter with 4-5 BHG destroyers ( battleships don t appear in missions from the BHG ) - or 4-5 corsair osiris is something different - thats just the poor randomized mission engine of freelancer. Enemy NPC ships and the cheapness they are >:3 - Capt. Henry Morgan - 07-20-2008 Actually, the NPC ships don't bother me much, except for the fact that they scan you regardless of your rep.... Enemy NPC ships and the cheapness they are >:3 - Xaero - 07-20-2008 The NPCs are ok, but even if you did change the bots/batts, someoene else would make a similar post on this forums saying the 'AI dont regen enough', or words to that effect. I for one quite enjoy blasting NPCs. It's free loot, free practise, and a DAMNED sight more interesting than trading. My only wish is that there were more difficult missions against fighters... Oh and missions in these new systems... Okay that's two wishes, but what ya gonna do? Enemy NPC ships and the cheapness they are >:3 - Carlos_Benitez - 07-21-2008 Freelancers in Omicron Gamma are very difficult to kill. They're a bunch of cheaters. According to my Pretorian's supernova, an NPC freelancer (falcon) has more hull than an NPC Nomad Gunboat. Enemy NPC ships and the cheapness they are >:3 - ... kur nubÄ—go? - 07-22-2008 Okey, if you want to create alive universwe, in wich npc is almost equal in power with player character that good. But how i suppose to do missions alone, with almost equal power npc, then their numbers are four or six times bigger? And all i get its just a few credits. Enemy NPC ships and the cheapness they are >:3 - Panzer - 07-23-2008 I demand, that NPCs quit using their repair kits! Also, those ridiculous armor multipliers would be nice as a thing of the past. Gimme a break, multiplying armor on low-level NPCs is good - they'd get equally useful everywhere. Not the way it is now - in NY you kill NPCs by the gazillions (lv 1 starflea anyone?) and in Tau 37 you get lv 18 Sabres, which have (from what I see) About twice more armor a player-operated Sabre can have at best. They aren't that bad, the absolute record are wild Wraths in omega 58. I won't even mention the Scorpion gunboats... |
