they put a very nice concept engine shields weapons where conected i mean the ship had one powercore.

this powercore provide X amount of power that was dividet in the subsystems engine weapons and shields.
Thats part of core freelancer, its just not used in this mod very much. It used to only work with transport shield generators, and those would drain weapon power when shield was regenerating (you can see this in the 4.86 wiki for shield gens). The devs dont like it for some reason
