man its impossible to get money on this server -.- everytime i try trading i get shot down before i get even close to where i'm going, and i got way to sucky guns to do missons so i'm stuck -.-

Hire some mercenaries to escort you to the system you're going to. If you're too broke to do that, watch the "long range scanners" for pirates in the systems you're going through. But I suggest the hiring of people to escort you, encourages RP.

If you're really stuck for money, mine silver in Colorado for a bit. That'll get your reserves up, at least to buy a reasonable freighter.
And don't worry about capships. As long as they are well played, all is good.
