Until lvl 20 the only way to pvp is by buying "capes". They are very cheap and you can basically attack other poeple who wear them. Usually people outside of city walls (safe zones) are fighting like this.
When you hit lvl 20, you can be a thief, hunter, or merchant, a job basically. Thieves can attack the other two at will and vice-versa.
You can have guild wars.
And you can murder after lvl 20 too. However, if you kill someone like this then anyone can attack you because your name turns red, and then you loose your 3 most valuable items. If you attack someone but don't murder them, your name will turn purple and will revert back to white much faster than murder does.
But yeah, it's a very pvp oriented game I guess, but it's fun the way they control and made it.
You can youtube sro fights, some are pretty cool with the skills and all.

I just DL'd this game and started playing.
I'm on Oasis, level 6 (woot!) and have basic weapons and such, but I'm grasping the concepts!
Character name: Athelstan, Warrior with 1 sword and Shield. Question, can I chose a second mastery? I am thinking of Cleric, is this a good choice?
