RE: Admin Notice: Community Rules Updated - Govedo13 - 10-15-2013 Great work with the rules re-writting. Kudos to you! Also recent example: http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=105867&pid=1420122#pid1420122 I hope you include good explained paragraph on Powergaming/Metagaming as well. Seems many people does not understand those terms. V-Sync is always on, which limits the framerate to your monitor's refresh rate, unless you force disable it. Framerate over 160 results in your ship jumping around all the time for everyone else. So, yes, logic, and yes, you would be a cheater. It's also quite easy to prove. RE: Admin Notice: Community Rules Updated - Thyrzul - 10-15-2013 Quote:3.3 Aggressors are not allowed to destroy a trade vessel prior to issuing a demand, in system or local chat, and allowing sufficient time to respond. "Halt" on its own is not a demand, however, a trade vessel can be destroyed if they refuse to stop after being asked to in the form of a proper demand. Other than these, I'd like to ask you whether do you intend to review the Faction Creation Rules. I believe that would need a renewal as well. And I haven't really seen Official Faction Rule 4. being enforced at all at any point during my so far over 2 years stay on Disco.

With the Liberty battleship there along with the supergate it makes sense. That or Alberta gets added to the relevant factions ZOIs, DSE/Ageira should be able to defend their project after all. Which supergate? RE: Admin Notice: Community Rules Updated - Echo 7-7 - 10-16-2013 (10-15-2013, 12:17 PM)Mercarryn Wrote: ... How does the game determine what the appropriate refresh rate is, anyway? I know it doesn't force it to 60Hz, as my 3D LCD runs at 120Hz when I'm not playing in 3D mode. If it simply picks the highest supported rate for the chosen resolution, people who have a super fast display, such as some high-end 3D Plasma displays (which boast refresh rates of 600Hz or more) just might be out of luck. Then again, I doubt there are many who would play on such a setup, but it is something to consider. Transports and freighters are exempt from this rule. Good point. Reworded to "trade vessels" to remove that confusion. This means if transports or freighters take an offensive role in an engagement (Repair ships, piracy, battlefreighters, etc) they're not exempt from this rule, and it only applies to them if the described scenario happens while they're trading. Alternatively, you can make a HF group, go for official status, and if your request is approved you can request your own ID with cap access. Faction IDs rephack their own IFF to +1. Only generic IDs allow flying with no IFF. Faction creation rules are also being worked on along with faction rules. As for faction rule 4, off the top of my head... It happened to [LN] and MM~ a couple of times back in 85, also to SCRA| if my memory's not failing me. But yea... That rule's not used that often. Disabling vSync on it's own is not considered cheating, however, if you want to do that you'll have to use an external program like Dxtory to limit your maximum framerate and make sure it doesn't go above 160. Setting the max fps to 120 is always the safest bet. RE: Admin Notice: Community Rules Updated - Duvelske - 10-16-2013 Finally the conn rules. Yet it lacks That sales should all be inRP as stated a pvp practise system. Not some easy sale system.
