RE: Help listing a server - aerelm - 11-26-2013 I'm sorry fellas, but Discovery GC administrators team never had, and neither does have anything to do with the global server listing. We don't even have access to the list or the means and proper rights to add or remove any servers to or from it. Feel free to continue writing in big red letters here if that helps you ease your frustration, but I'm afraid it would be to no avail as it would be as good as doing the same thing in your own forums.

I'm sorry but as much as I want to help you out, there is absolutely nothing I, or any other member of the GC admins or dev team can do when it comes to the GUN servers. We have as much access to the GUN server as you yourself do, so if you can't add your own server there, neither can we. RE: Help listing a server - Widow - 11-26-2013 Go take a break for a while and cool off. Getting grumpy and calling people names will just make people even less inclined to try and help. RE: Help listing a server - Kazinsal - 11-26-2013 In theory, if your server has the gun.fllistserver.com line uncommented (ie. working), it'll automatically be listed. The GUN server's kinda cool like that. Unlike some of you, who are presently not being very cool and need to calm down and cool off so you can once again be cool. I guess what I'm trying to say is... be cool. RE: Help listing a server - Tankman - 11-26-2013 Any chance this thread could get a lock? It has kinda spiraled down into a rage-fest. Also nice censor job
RE: Help listing a server - KellyR - 11-26-2013 In theory? There are two lists. 1 is gun.fllistserver.com the other one is maintained by the discovery mod team and lists discovery servers only. If you aren't on that list, then you won't be seen unless the user removes the semicolon from the hostname line in freelancer.ini. The entry looks like this as the mod is delivered ;hostname = gun.fllistserver.com Most users won't touch their freelancer.ini file So if you aren't on the discovery list, you won't be seen. You can see my server if you uncomment the hostname line as specified above, but if you leave it commented, you won't see my server. There is a thread in the 'Other Servers' board where you can apply. I've appled, applied, applied, applied etc for 5 months and have been ignored. I'm just about ready to start posting my application in all forums here. If the regular listkeeper is gone, then appoint another one. I even volunteered my time to maintain this list and was ignored. This was before I lost my patience and my temper snapped. Ignoring someone is being caually rude. I don't like being casually rude. If there's a need for it I will be intentionally rude. And I won't calm down until my server is listed. I was calm for 5 months and what did it get me? Absolutely NOTHING. Maybe acting like an *** will get me something. It sure can't hurt. (And yes, I censored that myself). Other servers are listed. All those other servers you see on your list, Paulus's Aussie Disco Portal, Discovery Redemption, The Gank Squad, etc, are all on the Discovery list, but they ignore my requests. That smacks of favoritism; perhaps unintentional but favortism, nonetheless. Favortism is wrong, no matter how you look at it. I'll be cool when they get my server listed. Until then, I'm rather hot and will stay that way. I won't stop complaining about this. So get used to me making a nuisance of myself. There's one quick way for it to stop. GET MY SERVER ON THE DISCOVERY LIST!!! Once that is done, you won't here a peep from me. I even volunteered my time before they drove me over the edge by ignoring me. I don't care if that person isn't around anymore. That's not my problem. Or actually it is my problem so I'm going to let everyone know about my problem until they get me listed. Kelly RE: Help listing a server - KellyR - 11-26-2013 (11-26-2013, 09:27 AM)aerelm Wrote: You can get us listed on the discovery list server. I'm already listed on gun.fllistserver.com. But until I'm listed on the Discovery list I won't be shown unless a player edits their freelancer, ini to remove the semicolon from in front of the hostname= entry. Most users WILL NOT touch their game files. So, I'm sorry, but your explanation does not track. I don't want you to get me listed on gun.fllistserver.com. I'm already listed there. I want you guys to get my server listed on the discovery list. I even have a DYN host that points to my IP so when my ISP takes it into their head to change my IP (does happen occasionally) my server won't fall off the list. Kelly RE: Help listing a server - utrack - 11-26-2013 Try finding the list keeper, do some research - if you'll find GUN sources\binaries then you can get your global server yourself if the keeper gone MIA. Discovery server admins and/or forum moderators aren't affiliated with listserver in any way. Your players could edit the INI as well. Also, spamming, swearing and calling names won't help you.
