Wow! That would be hilarious when it's surrounded by 10 Navy ships chasing pirates, trying to stop them from docking... Big Grin

The slight concern is that if you tag your "base", you could be accused of idling via sticking the ship inside a docking port. Best if you're not currently Rp'ing with anyone to F1 it out or simply dock with the station concerned.

If this becomes popularized, I'm sure the devs could work out some form of mechanic for this one.

If you mean that it's against the rules to /stuck yourself into a station, then yes it is, but I'm sure admins will overlook this, because they're RPing a station, not a ship, they aren't abusing it to hide from a PvP, they are being creative and doing something new.

It clearly has the support from the community, so let's have more RPed bases Big Grin, I claim the BS in penny by Erie, (can't remember what it's called).

That's a pretty apt point and not one I'm going to debate. 100% Support here.

Edit: For the purpose of not being caught out though, let's explore this deeper. What if some person of less regular cannonic awareness roleplayed Java, say, as being a starbase under direct lease by the United Federation of Planets? Bizarrer incidences happen every day.

Second Edit: A player acting in such a manner would prove nearly impossible to rectify forcibly due to the nature of their positioning (you'd have to irk the base in order to minedrop them out of existence), so perhaps a server rule modification would be in order? Some reasoning that would remove any exemption based (hoho) upon dock sticking if the Rp of the base concerned remains completely incompatible to the present Rp of the possesive party? (I.E., if they don't have the right to Rp as Heaven's Gate, they don't Rp as Heaven's Gate).

GREAT IDEA!!!

That will help with RolePlaying a lot! and turn it more interesting!

Maybe, the Player Station having rights to allow/deny to dock and maybe can activate/deactivate the 1st TL around... Or just manage the Docking Ring doors... i think, almost infinite posibilites hehehehe.

My vote YES!

I actually like this idea a lot! Might have to stick myself or another person into Ames...

Hmmm...

Well the concept of roleplaying stations has been around quite a while in the form of PoBs...sure sticking yourself inside it is a little different. But when you have base commands which come along with PoBs, there is so much more you can do, mechanics wise. We could do with more well roleplayed PoBs to.

I say nope. Players will tend to gather in selected few places even more, and other systems will become even less populated and much rarely wisited.

Clearly no one remembers Leeds.Jump.Hole.

Was a camera ship that RPed a man stuck in the jumphole to Leeds in Magellan. Was actually very interesting to see people stop to RP with this guy.

Im just gonna say this. If im running from the cops then I dont give a BLLLEEEEEEP if the "base" tells me to stop or not.
