i'm in two minds about this. conneticut is probably the single system i spend the most time in, but if i had such a chat i would never need to go look for fun on the rp part of the server, i could just find someone that is fun to fight in the chat.
i remember some time back angry admin aerelm appeared in conneticut and kicked everyone out, and somehow everyone ended up in Magellan instead for a massive cluster**** between CR, BAF, Council, GRN and LN with some BHG, Outcasts and Pirates clearing out what was left over and it was great - the best fight I had since reinstalling Disco.
The 10-15 players from Conneticut fighting each other in-rp using every trick in the book to get an edge, with different ID's, priorities, allies and targets and full b/b was really a fun matchup (totally reminded me of the 4.85 Corsairs vs Outcasts mutual raiding) and it would be great if the server could somehow offer this type of gameplay on a consistent basis again. Then Conneticut could be deleted for all I care.

I'd say don't make the chat too spammy, only post if you are really in search of someone to train with.

It might actually not be completely useless if you try starting from the bottom up, rather than adding everyone so they can all leave one by one.

Personally I dont fly in conn much, if anytime. But overall idea is great indeed.

Well by overwhelming you mean 24 people have expressed interest according to poll. So I suspect that majority of the 225 people currently in the channel aren't really that interested. But meh doesn't matter, it's easy enough to leave if folks want to.
