GMG bomber ( replace ) - chopper - 08-11-2008 As far as I see, one torp slot is above the ship, and one is bellow. Me likes it, though I think it's a bit bigger, wider, then the current one. GMG bomber ( replace ) - Xing - 08-11-2008 hm.. I personally loved the Taidan feature of having the torp slot just behind balls like thing, made a unique "gatling turret" feel. GMG bomber ( replace ) - Doom - 08-11-2008 windows... for that to work you need modeled inside of the cockpit and precisely hadpointed HpPilot. So when you are texturing in Milkshape apply one empty material to the cockpit window. Name that material like you wish but part of the name must contain word: Glass. When exporting MAT file exporter will ask you for missing material. Ignore that and press continue. It will apply default setting making windows transparent and light blue color. Open Mat file with UTF editor. In Material library find your "Glass" material and edit two nodes -> Dc and Oc Dc node have values like this: Code: 0.00000Those are colors. So Dc node will define color of your windows. They are placed like this: Code: 0.00000 RedFourth line isn't important now. By adding values like this Quote:0.50000you will get somewhat dark blue color. Don't make values above 0.9000. Next step is to edit Oc node. There is only one thing to edit there since it will look like this by default (edit first line): Quote:0.80000 Oc node is level of transparency. Lower number is more transparency and higher less...(or vice versa, i can't remember) GMG bomber ( replace ) - Jinx - 08-11-2008 cool - i ll try that - edit: the torp like console does not exist in the final version anymore - and the torpedo launchers ( the FL gun models ) are fully invisible. GMG bomber ( replace ) - Blodo - 08-11-2008 What about the wings at the back? Any possibility of an experiment to at least see how they look? Or would that require retexturing everything? GMG bomber ( replace ) - Jinx - 08-11-2008 that would require retexturing - and they d look like something that was attached for the looks - afterwards attached for the looks ( and fails ). - tried some winglets there - and they don t look good. it disturbs the otherwise rather formal functionality design. GMG bomber ( replace ) - kingvaillant - 08-11-2008 for the texture color I have something to propose GMG bases are all in blue nebulae, The used guerrila tactics to win against RM. Thus best color for the ships would be something blue GMG bomber ( replace ) - Jinx - 08-11-2008 i actually suggested the blueish BW silvery with white linings.... but got convinced making it white with silver linings. - the current GMG ships ( taidan ) are white with grey stripes. .... ambient light will make it appear whatever light the colour has anyway - the ambient light in FL is very strong... and since this ship is "white" it will take any colour the suns have. but yes.... it ll be quite visible. GMG bomber ( replace ) - Jamez - 08-11-2008 Jinx are you sure you didn't work for Digital Anvil without realising it?:P That looks like a vanilla ship, so +100 cool points for Jinx. GMG bomber ( replace ) - Heartless - 08-11-2008 Nice, like a mixture of current Taiidan, borderworlds and rheinland ship. I like it, but will probably never use it though. |
