Are Corsairs supposed to be sissies in Discovery? - El Nino - 08-18-2008 To the first post: Nah Corsairs are real tough mf's who have one of the most dangerous intiation rites in all Sirius, traveling unshielded to Malvada cloud to pick up artifacts and survive keepers and radiation... When hunger strikes they even resort to eating human flesh, so they are basicly what one would call "Hispanic Gangsters"... Their ships are big and bulky, their weapons are very powerful, even their light fighters are heavily armored... Powersupplies built to sustain non-sissines. The players who play them are mostly sissies, I don't know why, must be becouse they have beautiful cap ships, that attract the missguided or their great stats that look good in the readme file... Mostly they are nobs, much like I was when i started out. I had played the game for 3 days, single player first and then I was allready on my way to become a corsair, when I entered Discovery... There's really nothing to it.. Great name, great ships, great looks,... Only recently i've found out that Outcast players are much more tough in general, but that does not mean some Corsairs arn't the toughest of them all... So if an Ally comes bossing you around on your turf, make a scene, and punish him, rough him up a little, take out his turrets, don't kill him thou. Teach him a lesson! Are Corsairs supposed to be sissies in Discovery? - Muleo - 08-18-2008 1. If a trader claims they're a Corsair, with no obvious telltale signs (iff/id/tag) pirate 'em even harder for lying to you. 2. If there's threats of reports, or pretty much stupid behaviour in general, please report the bastards? At the moment Gamma is a right piss hole with OOC and stupidity rampant everywhere, if we all pitch in, we can nail these bastards to the wall:P Are Corsairs supposed to be sissies in Discovery? - Rudo - 08-18-2008 ' Wrote:Passengers are completly 100% NOT ALLOWED - you will be warned off and shot at if you bring them to gamma. I was making a joke, ya silly nincompoop. :P Are Corsairs supposed to be sissies in Discovery? - chopper - 08-18-2008 Quote:To the first post: What's the 'Who's toughest' has to do with this thread? Also, are you talking about indies or factions? I mean, your post lacks the point, really. I'm not hurt by it (since I am a Corsair), I just don't understand it at all. How can someone with better ships and weapons be more tougher then ones who try to be good in sucky ships with sucky weapons? I don't know if you are aware, but Titan is a brick. And I really am glad when I see 5-8 Titans flying around Crete. In my view, those who select easier way (better ships + better weapons) can't be tougher then those who try hard to compensate their sucky tech with their 'potential skill'. But again, what's that got to do with this thread? The "Corsairs vs Outcast" thread existed more then once, and it never ended well. I know many good people on both sides, as well as fair players. There are always exceptions, of course. But the point is, Outcasts would be boring without Corsairs to make their life harder, and the other way 'round. At the moment, people are not split in groups like "Oh, he's a RM player", or "Oh, he's a BAF" player. It always goes down to Outcasts and Corsairs. Who prefers whom. Anyhow, I find Corsairs cooler for me, as I'm sure some people find Outcasts cooler then Corsairs. It has nothing to do with toughness. If they say one of your bases, "offer" to "escort" them - by which I of course mean follow closely and make sure he doesn't divert from his stated course.Well, as Tequila said, we try and not shoot ourselves on our collective feet by not pirating food coming to Crete and Artifacts being smuggled out. The food part is because we have hit bottom ourselves and have enough humanity left to pity the people in need back home. They would pirate Artifacts smugglers if it didn't mean hurting the people who are bringing food on their way in. Hell, these are guys who would steal from their mothers if they could get away with it. This guy from yesterday was in 17, coming from Theta, with Deuterium in his hold. He was going to Kusari. ' Wrote:The Order are Corsair allies, and as such, they have certain leeway - that doesnt give them the right to come into Corsair space and trash talk you - there is such a thing as respect? Yes its earned, sometimes by just being there, other times by fear, intimidation and occasionally making someone suck vacuum. It seems it's too difficult a concept for people to wrap their minds around, them being each character in turn and not the player all the time. Another thing that I've noticed is that some of the players that play pirates suck as traders when it comes down to being pirated themselves, ergo the guy switching to his fighter to come bully me. Whichever connection an Order fighter has with a Pirate transport besides being played by the same person is beyond me. ' Wrote:1. That's precisely the reasoning I use and that people can't understand. Actually, they CAN understand, but people try to metagame their way out of being pirated themselves. It's funny for them to corner a trader and rob them, but when it's them on the receiving side of the stick they simply can't take it. With a completely neutral ship such as that one, I would not be surprised if the guy tries and get around being pirated by both the Corsairs' and Outcasts' alliances saying that he works for them. Are Corsairs supposed to be sissies in Discovery? - Raf von Thorn - 08-19-2008 "This is not a rant, I've just solved the issue in game with the Order pilot the way I understand is totally in character for a true bandit. What I really want is to have this cleared, because if this is the assumed natural routine over here, it's time for me to try the next game." Order pilots true bandits? So why there`s a "lawfull" description on the ID? Please someone clarify that, i`d like to know how admin sees that issue. Are Corsairs supposed to be sissies in Discovery? - globalplayer-svk - 08-19-2008 simply. say his name to the first tbh, benitez,or opg ship that you meet, and i am sure they will solve things. and i think, that order ship was other character of the trader, thats why he screamed on you. next time when you meet him, pirate him harder. maybe he understand what he maked bad Are Corsairs supposed to be sissies in Discovery? - Zavier - 08-19-2008 Actually, there are such things as protected traders, such as JG transports and Celestial_Shipping. Pretty much anyone that isn't one of the aforementioned, carrying food or artifacts, or has zoner ID/Tag(The tag is the more important part in this combo as its harder to get), pirate 'em. |
