Well Keep in mind that the Nomad Hunters was just an example... This spreads to probably almost every player on the server...

Meanwhile the topic at hand is not that you have been victim of the very thing I speak of but what about the thing I speak of; Would it be better to maintain a more better Roleplay or to respect other players while doing so that may cause your Roleplay to be "less solid" at the time.

Would better Roleplay be priority over still-semi-decent Roleplay+Fun for all.

It's a game, my friend.. players are not their characters. For instance, I'm not actually an officer in the airforce of a fascist space theocracy, or an inquisitory police officer for a fascist police state, nor do I run a spaceship transporting prisoners around said fascist police state. Nor do I worship a man with a funny hat and a German accent, or am an assassin who looks like a squid.

I JUST finished chasing a Nomad assassin heavy fighter who chose to sun dive. it was being chased by 1 GB (me) abd about 8 fighters. One would say thats not RP.. Umm Nomad in manhattan? RP would probably demand a whole system lock down and a THOROUGH scan and hunt of the system to ensure no incidents or anything else.

However I do believe in the fairity of fights and such. Such as no Cruisers and stuff if fighters are going at it. I will keep my GB out if the numbers are extremely one sides. say 3 against one. However if its like 3 and 3. Well I might go if I feel it wouldn't make it too one sided..

It tends to be situational for me.

Lived this one. Though it was in Texas and not New York. Flying along as my indi outcast and got caught by a single patrolling Navy pilot. We started a nice little dance and during that his wingman showed up. No problems there, Navy ought to fly as pairs anyway. Now Im loosing a little faster but still having a good time. Next thing I know a Liberty Battleship crashes the party and steals the kill shot.

Not a very satisfying end to what had been a fun encounter up till then. Why jump in with so much firepower and take the satisfaction from those two pilots who had worked for the kill?

Anyway thats one example of why my indi outcast isnt seen in Liberty much anymore

Typing this response at work on a break and got interrupted.

Edit: To answer your main question. I am always more concerned with everyone having a chance to RP and have a good time, than eliminating a target with extreme firepower.
Actually thats why I refuse to fly anything bigger than a fighter for combat and why I usually stop for pirates in my traders. Its just more fun that way.

We had three [RM] ships in New Berlin yesterday. Two Wraths and a bomber. Me and two of our newer guys. We role played the discovery of his presence in system and I ordered the two ships to find and engage him. As I gave the order, a fourth [RM] logged in. He heard the order and left the Planet to find the RHA. When they told me they had found the guy, I decided to pull back one of the ships.

I took the bomber away from the fight, ordering him back in formation with me, while the two others kept fighting the RHA. The way I see it, two ships versus one may be a challenge to the outnumbered pilot, three on one is just annoying and not really fun. I'm not saying that the RHA guy couldn't pull it off, specially against the two vanilla ships and considering the fact that two of the pilots are still in training.

I try and avoid these kinds of excesses around me if I can.

And I reckon you can, most of the time, even role play the situation. Arrogance is fitting quality to a fascist state military organization.

We did that in New York as Mandalorians too. Three of us met two pirate ships near West Point, a Rogue and a Hacker. For some reason the Rogue literally fled as we approached, leaving the Hacker alone behind. We were two veterans (me and Dieter) and a guy who had just joined that day. I told the new guy in open channels that he needed the training and sent him alone against the Hacker. When I figured the fight was bad for him and that he would likely lose, I pulled him off the fight and told him to go help our third ship around Manhattan.

Bottom line is: If you create a leveled environment, then it's likely that everyone involved will have some fun. If you tossed your overwhelming advantage away and lost, have a laugh and go do something else.

Its entirely circumstantial for me. When I'm on my BS and I catch a ship in restricted space/smuggling, they likely get blown to bits. (Though the last one I caught I let go since he promised to not come back, etc..)

Now I don't actively seek fights, I let em come to me but if I am patrolling and encounter fighters alone, I usually don't fire on them, instead opting to "rp launch fighters" and not chase them when they move off. It just wouldn't be enjoyable for them to come under full attack by a bs...

When it comes to Capships though such as dreadnoughts or battlecruisers, the gloves come off.

Happened to me once, actually. I had a good laugh, and after the Navy and LSF backed of when I was deep in the Badlands, I had fun thanking them for complimenting my flying skills by deciding they needed five pilots to down me, and taunting them about their pathetic Navy. If you end up being attacked by large numbers of people, I'd suggest doing that. I find it fun. Even if you do have to leave the system, it's still probably better to retreat from that.

Right after Magoo! posted his bounty on the two guys yesterday I went after one of them that was in New York. The only ship I had around was my Taiidan bomber. I decided to take it anyway, worried that I would end up losing my prey should I try and take a ship from another House to Liberty. After a couple of minutes tracking down the guy, I found him alone around the Detroit Munitions station.

The guy was in a Viper MkII. He had a Civilian ID (level 37), class 8 guns and shields. Really, my character couldn't care less, but I (player) couldn't do it to the guy. It was just too one sided.:$

I decided to add a bit to the RP to see how the guy would react. I said, "Whatever have you done to Lycaon to make him angry at you?" The guy never answered. All he did was a hasty fast dock and log. If it's any consolation, Magoo!, I may have got him scared.:)

Thanks, Gronath.

At the very least I got some intel on it at no extra charge.:P

Anywho, which one was it? I'd rather not have people hunt down a Level 37...
