The Okura family is a long line of traders and businessmen. Tekkan tried to follow his father's footsteps and raised a company from the ground but he wanted more than just planetside transportation so he tried his luck and expanded his business outside the boundaries of one planet. He took a credit and bought an Akegata, he saved a Sutinga from being scraped and fixed it. His company tried to get some trade contracts in Rheinland but a fish this small can't survive in the same world where giants like Kishiro or Samura live. So, his firm started loosing money and he decided to close it down. The next step was joining Samura. Tekkan's father died recently and his mother is living a peaceful life on Honshu. He has no brothers or sisters (that he knows off).
