OS - Epholl - 08-30-2008

I am still trying to deal with youtube videos in Opera (have to use FF for now) and finishing my skin... Wine will come into the game later...

This thing has 4 desktops (for now) and I am completely okay with it all for now...

I will see what comes next.

Probably best set checking out cedega if you want to do any high powered gaming.

I will check that out, thanks.

(It will be for FL only anyway...)

If I didn't play games on my PC, I would happily use Ubuntu (8.04).
It's really stable, has all the software I need and is not a major target for spyware, viruses etc like windows.

However I DO play games (and Wine isn't that good for running PC games on Linux), so I have a Linux dual boot system, but tbh, after I got Linux installed and working, I hardly ever boot up into it really. I just can't be bothered, Sure, Windows is more clunky to use than Linux, but it works ok.

When the day comes that I can install a PC game using Linux, Windows will be wiped off my system.

Linux is good for running dedicated game servers. Very good. You cannot use in-game console commands for windows because its not windows.

No anti-virus or spyware...Its great. That means you won't need any AV in the first place. Stupid Windows.

One day a board computer nerd will come along with his laptop, create a massive list of coding, submit it to Linux and everyone will be able to play Windows games on Linux

I'm not holding my breath though...

An OS is only as good as its admin, period. Vista haters remember that.
