You would have been good doing the kusari Civ or FL restarts as they give pretty good reps.
I did Freelancer Liberty restart, because I wanted to short time on buying Firefly. I didn't know this restart would be hostile to Gallia. I thought that different freelancer restarts are just placement, not reps too.
