RE: Windows 8.1 - Rebirth - 09-16-2014 Well, I must say on Windows 8.1 my Freelancer Discovery runs ways better than on Windows 7, on my Windows 7 it crashes every 20 minutes since the latest Beta Patch... must be something with my OS, I guess. Or that tons of memes I've downloaded that are all full of trojans & stuff. However, if it runs for you on Win 7 well, have fun. PS : You've fix'd it right? As far I read your posts, it seems like that. PPS : Get TuneUp with that you can deactivate all that unnecessary stuff on your computer. Or go to the Search bar of Windows 7 and write into it "msconfig" then you look through the tabs, deactivate what you don't know on behalf of programs. But hey, be carefully you can damage your system if you don't know what you are doing. Tried 3 different times even used the disk and flash for Launch pad. It's loaded easy on 7 Ultimate but what a pain this new windows OS is. This is a top end Gaming system, best of everything. Very frustrated.I decided it's back to Windows 7 I'll spend a few bucks to run this system, a $100.00 to be the master again. A see ya in flight, this has a few good things but allot of bad that slow the system. I have a separate server brand new! The speeds are so slow when they are connected and in sink. I have 5.25 TB's of un-used space matched and meant to be. Win 8 just screws it up. Yeah this is crap for Microsoft RE: Windows 8.1 - Connor - 09-16-2014 Downgrade to Windows 7. #Windows7MasterRace RE: Windows 8.1 - Rebirth - 09-16-2014 If you believe in Windows 8 you weren't the master you haven't tried Windows Vista, hehe. However, you may open up your cmd = console and put in : CHKDSK /f into the commando prompt. This will Repair your drive probably, if windows 8 damaged it in any way. It takes up to an hour, I had the same problem with Windows 8 where everything was slow as hell. Checkdisk command (CHKDSK /f) repaired it, most likely. Windows 8.1 is crap, yeah, you are right. But it runs now, and my father told me "never touch a running system" hehe... -Phillip PS : No #WindowsXPistheRealMasterofOS PPS : You can also run 2 OS systems at the same time, no need to uninstall Windows 8 actually. Just install Windows XP as 2ndary OS, and use it for playing older games. Just as me. It actually has some neat features. The horrible permissions hierarchy of Win 7 is fixed, I believe, and connecting computers together is easier. Don't join the bandwagon of haters just like that. I mean, come on, if you really want an original, stick with 8.1 and don't waste a hundred. RE: Windows 8.1 - djoser1970 - 09-27-2014 OK I have the main game running finally, thanks for all the help second problem it's not in the full screen it's box style my old system would allow me to change between full screen and boxed? I'm getting close to playing on my 50" screen LOL, Although I don't have the companion installed yet that might make a difference |
