RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - Marburg - 09-16-2014

2nd.
simply because I like it the best

the old wasn't broke & didn't need fixing in the first place, but I honestly do like the #2 redo

::& just a smidge off-topic Jinx: Are the original Gaian Gunboats gone forever, or is it possible to snag one w/ an SRP?

I only ask because when it was replaced, we were originally told beforehand that those that had 'em could keep 'em...but if sold, would be gone forever...I was prepared for that, but the new model was forced ontop of my old anyway when all was said & done::

I definitely like the third. I like the look and fact it follows shapes that Garanchou has. Because Garanchou is lovely one as well.

However, nothing against community vote, but I think GMG| should have strong voice about this. This is exactly the case when opinion of official faction should count.

Can we have 1 and 3, 1 as a smaller cheaper freight type and 3 as the luxury top spec state of art one?

RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - Asbestos - 09-16-2014

I'm putting my vote down on the 2nd one.

The 2nd model suits the bill the most for the GMG. The Kujira wasn't built to look like a slender, fancy transport. Its role was to haul loads of stuff efficiently and cheaply, while sacrificing most of its defensive capabilities. Crude but effective, and good looks weren't kept in mind.

The first model looks like it's trying to suit a role it isn't meant to fill. It's not a mining platform, and shouldn't look like one.

The 3rd model doesn't look like it's suiting the Kujira's original role either. It appears like it's built more for good looks than cheap and easy transportation. Too sleek and slender, with a luxurious look, contrary to the Kujira ideal. Some may say that it's similar to the Garanchou freighter, but that's not necessarily a good thing. Their roles are not the same, thus the Kujira shouldn't look like an over sized Garanchou.

The 2nd one would be the conservative choice, sure, as its quite similar to what the old Kujira whale model looked like, at least in spirit. But it's also the only ship model here that actually looks like it'd fulfill the same role as its predecessor(s). The other ships doesn't really feel like 'the' GMG Whale, while this one has potential.

Those are some nice balls you've got there.

#3 is the only one I really like. #1 would look ok as some kind of gas miner, but not a ship designed to transport cargo (gas or otherwise) long distances. #2 looks too much like a zoner ship (I know that's hard for you, jinx, not saying your zoner ships look bad, but this is the GMG we're talking about =)

I'd say replace the current GMG whale with design #3, but update it's infocard to state that it is a mk2 version and that the "old whales" are being phased out in favor of the new design. I like that it's skinnier - much easier concept to run through a volatile gas field - and it fits the design of the freighter more closely. Also the reference to it being a "big camara" is excellent, everyone loves the camara so having a transport variant of it isnt a half bad idea.

Then, add an entirely new ship using design #1 as a GMG gas miner / mining ship with lower cargo but all the benefits of a proper mining ship.

I think you are forgetting this is MK II vessel. I believe that GMG would think off their own shipline, to make it prettier, like all Houses are doing recently. Why can't they afford the style? GMG is in fact one of the richest factions out there by lore, having balls to oppose both Rheinland and Kusari influence.

I voted for #2, mostly because the tail is very whale-like, and I really like he sidecar cockpit.
#1 is a very utilitarian looking ship, and would be my 2nd choice.
#3 looks very Gaian, and the drive flame running passed the gas tanks makes me incredibly nervous...

Agreed with 'Burg and Abestos.

Voted for the 2nd option because it looks the most like a "whale", which is what the ship is supposed to be.

The third model is very nice, and I love the curvature of it (except that little engine looking thing on the bottom of the front end, that ruins the whole shape and flow of the ship, that little piece should be removed) but it doesn't fit in with the GMG whale idea.

I'd like to see the 3rd model get implemented somewhere else, just not as the GMG whale. Perhaps make it Kusari Civ? If Kusari has too many transports, then perhaps the Big Dragon transport could be removed, and this put in it's place (different name, of course).

OR, an even better idea, make the third model a BHG transport, it has that "shark-ish" look to it that the BHG line has, and I know many people have been wanting a BHG transport.

Standing by what option GMG faction stands for... no. 2 it would be.
