the same thing happened to me except ALL my characters were gone and the one i was playing on was level 20, however i restarted freelancer and logged back in and they were there.

Agreed. It is a pain because I'm meant to give money to clan members to fund them and I can't.

Admins always keep a backup (each week at least) of the database, so they "should" be able to restore your characters.
