A way to make this even better would be to tweak their AI so that they don't target players. Suggestions like this seem to be the only way we can get the other crazy side of community who desperately want them to stay. Seriously though people, we don't need NPCs. We should just remove them completely. They do more harm than good. What will the poor Order Indies do without their Wild spawns to farm in Tohoku? First the planetary missiles, now the rest of the npcs? Do you guys want all security in house space to rely only on Pobs and LolCaps? Edit: One suggestion I could provide would be to reduce the chance for security/raid npc patrols (those 2 or 3 fighter npc patrols) to negligible numbers, and keep the trade/transport convoys. Removing missiles and mines from npcs like others suggested is also beneficial in my opinion. Cds on gunboat patrols and above should stay, to provide a deterrent to pirates/hostiles from hanging around heavily defended positions. Freelancer or rather disco without the nuisance of the npcs is kinda.. like going to connecticut and waiting to rp. The infinite powercore being removed while i'm not sure i think causes more lag. At least it did when i tried it some years ago with another mod. Not sure what disco has tried on the dev level. I don't think the problem is the damage they inflict but more that they are annoying and in the way with no real contribution, other than "populating" the server. But they can do that without the guns. So how bout like the others said remove the missiles, mines and even ,why not, guns from the npc snubs, maybe cut their numbers too, leaving the rest of the caps and gunboats as they are.
