And with a turn acceleration worse than a Werewolf, it feels like one of the slowest VHFs I know. Wut? It's the fastest turning VHF there is, faster than several HFs though responsiveness is indeed not great. Prior to the latest stats adjustment, it was identical to the Centurion with a bit more hull. It's certainly never felt slow to me. That having been said, I totally agree. I much preferred the sleek, elegant original, and keeping both seems like an obvious solution that allows Gaians to have a more complete shipline. The first model being the original, and the new one a hasty attempt at giving the ship a bit more staying power by sticking on armor plating (that's what it looks like) and overcharging the core. That's the sort of explanation that could be stuck on the infocard. RE: Chameleon replacement - kikatsu - 02-02-2015 "As the Gallic war raged in Bretonia, the working environment of the Gaians grew increasingly hostile. The BAF patrols increased in their frequency and aggressiveness, and soon the Gaians soon found themselves in need of a ship that could dish out as much damage as it could take. Begrudgingly, the original engineers of the Chameleon were again drafted to further revise the ship. Based on the original chassis of the Chameleon, the Anaconda sacrifices grace and efficiency for reinforced armor plating and an unscaled reactor. Some Gaian pilots have questioned the efficiency of the ship's design, but few have argued about its ability to take a hit and keep flying. In the months after the Anaconda was introduced, no fewer than fifteen percent of all active Chameleons were upgraded to the heavier variant." RE: Chameleon replacement - Hidamari - 02-02-2015 it was probably changed due to being one of the most infuriating ships in the mod to hit or even deshield because it didnt have a shield bubble. though i thought that was getting fixed and so am surprised it was completely changed. RE: Chameleon replacement - Haste - 02-07-2015 I'll have a look, or something. (The "why not both?" sentiment appeals to me) RE: Chameleon replacement - Pancakes - 02-07-2015 (02-07-2015, 06:03 PM)Haste Wrote: I'll have a look, or something. <3 RE: Chameleon replacement - Fluffyball - 02-07-2015 We could also create the unique class vessel, in between HF and VHF, offering VHF guns and powercore, sacrificing shield class and armor for better agility. RE: Chameleon replacement - TheSauron - 03-05-2015 Anything going on with this? RE: Chameleon replacement - Haste - 03-05-2015 Still planning to reintroduce the old HF. My to-do list unfortunately contains more than one item. |
