As far as I was aware, things like FLHook plugins were known to cause slight performance issues. Not that they'd really be noticable, I'd have to assume if he's getting low-FPS outside of something like New London yesterday, it's more the fact that he has a slow processor. Be precise, what effects specifically. Alley, instead of railing on the guy until he gets that there are no new effects, perhaps just tell him what the actual problem is? Like we would expect someone handling software installed on our PCs to react, instead of posting the same thing over and over again. Max, I am running my system on an FX-8350 eight core and a GTX-960 graphics card and I still had 12fps in yesterday's fight. RE: To devs (Low HD effects). - jammi - 05-03-2015 Probably because there's no way to know what's causing it without the OP being more specific? He obviously knows when and in what area he gets FPS drops so being more specific about that is kinda necessary. Also, guys, sell your potatoes and buy something that can at least run Microsoft Word. Seriously. Spazzy - going for loads of cores won't improve your performance in freelancer because it doesn't support multi threading. So basically you've got one extremely underpowered core instead of eight good ones. RE: To devs (Low HD effects). - Salmin - 05-03-2015 Dud, my Notebook is fine for this game. The same sutiation was with D2, Patch Median XL. Strong PC but still too much effects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7Ao7LXiK-0 RE: To devs (Low HD effects). - sindroms - 05-03-2015 (05-03-2015, 08:16 PM)jammi Wrote: Probably because there's no way to know what's causing it without the OP being more specific? I went with the 8core, because of my work with sony vegas and other applications that do use multithreading. When I game with FL (Or host a server for testing), I load up an OCed one core at 4.5 GHz or, if I cba at that point, just set the affinity to a different core altogether. RE: To devs (Low HD effects). - Alley - 05-03-2015 You're not really helping me here. I'm asking you to be precise so I can ask some people to look at things. I need situations, projectiles that seem to affect performance more than others. Anything PRECISE and not "effects are causing problems on my pc" RE: To devs (Low HD effects). - Lord Caedus - 05-03-2015 (05-03-2015, 08:14 PM)sindroms Wrote:(05-03-2015, 08:12 PM)Max Morse Wrote:(05-03-2015, 07:59 PM)Alley Wrote:(05-03-2015, 07:56 PM)Max Morse Wrote: Graphics aren't really the issue, it's more all the extra features the mod adds in that cause low FPS. Which is why I said OUTSIDE of what happened in New London yesterday, I'm talking regular load gameplay. RE: To devs (Low HD effects). - Mort - 05-03-2015 I'm totally agreed with you, Salmin. I remember how back in 4.85 I could have 50-60 fps even in a massive cap fight. But with new effects fps drops to 10-15 or even worse RE: To devs (Low HD effects). - Drakons - 05-03-2015 I do not know the server-client architecture of Freelancer, but in some architecture, FPS will be partially (!) linked to the servers reaction speed; I cannot give more infos on this as even my old laptop runs FL fine. The only change of disco I've seen was ENB - try disabling it, if enabled? |
