The boss is out on some goose chase or other, and that leaves this poor girl stuck with the paper work.

We got the core of the Junction Wreck resealed and pressurized, but -=J=-Bandersnatch is hanging off the outside with her reactor jury-rigged to the station via a sort of reverse shore power cable arrangement. It's a damn good thing that there is a copper field in Humboldt. Gateway's promise of 48 hours for delivery of the Nuclear Devices is already hanging on most of a week, and, as long as they haven't delivered, we're stuck with this arrangement.

Once we got the power sorted out, we could get a figure on how much more strut work we'd need. The base is gonna use up about 25k tonnes of framing. We had to get it imported from Scarborough in Newcastle in the form of Super Alloy. The stuff's a right pain to work on, but at least we know the skeleton of the station will be solid.

All for now, Maxi out!

We finally got the nuclear devices, no thanks to Gateway Shipping. After numerous promises, the buggers never delivered a single unit, and took a whole month to not do it. People call me a Junker like it is an insult, but at least I don't reneg on my obligations by just wandering off.

With on site power and the steady supply of Robotic Hardware, we can get down to actually building the base. The next phase is more time consuming than anything else, but we're about a third the way there!

All for now, Maxi, out!

Phase one is complete. We have a livable habitat in orbit of Topeka, but that is all it is so far. The facilities are viable, but currently kind of crude. Our next stage is going to be a lot less slapdash, since we aren't going to be dealing with trying to address things as they pop up.

That said, I need to get a hold of Synth Foods and see what is needed to get a biodome complex out here. I may also want to talk to one of the various Orbital Spa and Cruise branches about some decent accomodations, since we are just barely past the hammock stage in the current quarters.

Wichita Orbital R&D is under new ownership effective immediately. In a completely unexpected happening, I took Silk_Road out today, intending to sell off unneeded supplies and found a Commonwealth force and 2 Cryer ships parked right outside.

After a long and varied discussion, Cryer bought the station on the spot for 200MCr, logs attached. It is a happy coincidence, since we have moved operations to Topeka and Hirschel Research Station. If they had not come along, the station keeping systems would have been turned off, and Wichita, the station, would have gone to meet Wichita, the planet.

In any case, Wichita, while pretty and still a good vacation spot, is now a closed chapter in the company's history.

Early this morning by local system time, a squadron of Nomad caps came out of the cloud near Topeka. With the base nothing more than an unshielded, pressurized habitat at this point, it didn't take much to ruin all of our work.

Bandersnatch is gone; she was the duty lifeguard and was trying to protect the base and the workforce on the outer hull. Even worse, Maxi and Contraption are gone. One of the big ships swatted them almost casually when they tried to evacuate the crew.

The only reason I am still alive is that I went over to Vespucci to formalize the sale of Wichita Orbital and was coming back while the slaughter was in progress. The base computer burst transmitted to Silk_Road, finishing up right before the comms were destroyed.

I got her turned around and out of there and there wasn't anything they could do about it. Unfortunately, there was nothing I could do with a Serenity transport against 8 battleships. I should have paid more attention to what that Division 9 ship showing up could mean, especially after Mr Yoshida informed me of what they are.
