On topic though, when I was flying Arrastra with drones back in the day (Yes, with dual missiles) , if I would duel someone I would use TS. Why? Because 3 weapons fire forward and 5 backward.

Now I don't fly SHFs but if I would chances are I'd probably use TS again because it's simply better. On terms of balance it makes SHFs not completely useless like they are since 4.85 apart from small periods of inbalance (like when missiles were OP).

As for fighters - I can't really see it working because they have so much guns and most of them have 0 or 1 turret. It does require mastering the aim though, not easy to hit without zoom out.

The point of using Steer with fighters is not to change the style of flying - one still does dog fight and circling around enemy and is still limited by ones arcs, though not as much as in flight mode when screen ratio plays role (I, for example, run it at 800x600 because of performance).

TS strategy for snubs is to do what they always used to do but with separating activities between ones hand making steering and aiming more INDEPENDANT, and this is the key advantage alongside with utilising a full potential of your arcs.

When adjusted one does predict moves and can aim conveniently.
Also there is a thing that is unlocked for TSing player - ability to barrel roll. When mastered it'd allow to face your enemy with the side of a ship that suits you at best, and it looks cool when you actually roll around.

Fair enough, but it has cons, such as being unable to strafe and spending hours and hours in Conn to train.

But if someone masters it, which is not an easy thing, I definetely wouldn't wanna fight them.

So basically you say that its drawbacks do not make it a major balance-breaking issue?

"If mastered.."
If you master anything, you get the upper hand over your opponent regardless of balance.
That is how skill works.

Yeah but mastering gunboats, for example, is a joke, while mastering fighters requires a whole heck of a lot more time.

Swallow, I think it's okay as it is - for the very few people that want to use it or are using it, let them.

Turret Steer Suck! Remove it.

4.85 ftw

Here are some poor quality videos. Thanks for participators for making it able to demonstrate what TS in snub looks like for user.

Don't think anyone's gonna get good enough at this any time soon for it to be better than regular first person flying.

Also, it's tough to strafe (a big deal in snub combat) and TS simultaneously. I can't imagine how you'd have to position your hands/fingers in order to strafe, reverse, thrust and turretsteer at the same time.

This might be viable or something, but the above average snub pvpers can easily counter you by using mines or MR/SNAC, or simply being on your six most of the time.

But at least I have some chances. SOME but zero.
