RE: Possible OSC Liner - sasapinjic - 07-28-2015 Yes , i agree that we need new liner . RE: Possible OSC Liner - The Ramler - 07-28-2015 I'm an OS&C fan myself and currently i own an OS&C passenger liner and a "Shukensha" luxury liner. I DO AGREE WITH YOU that the general luxury liner is a pain in the ass to fly... Since i own the "shukensha", these problems have dissapeared 90% of the time (gets stuck in trade lane very rarely). I agree that there should be something refreshing to make OS&C more appealing, not PVP-wise, but def. PvE-wise. But if you want to make "OS&C" an appealing company to newcomers, i guess there is more to do than only "new ships". They should add bonusses like miners get for mining, but then with passengers. I already like what they did with the videogames, bratwurst,... on a lot of OS&C vessels & planets, but this just pushes the inRP further away (passenger transport). If OS&C wants more inRP, i suggest something like this: Perhaps a new liner would fresh up the whole company, agree, but it needs more changes. If a player base wants to create a module, they should need a couple of "employees". Just like you need Ship hull parts,... OS&C can bring these to a company, with some kind of small bonus. (When OS&C delivers them: the production proces of a module is 2% faster, for example). Perhaps a new module for player made bases, completely focused on OS&C would be superb. a "Tourist Module", which allows passengers, vips,... to live in some kind of "dome", where they can have fun at the casino, stay at the hotel, walk in the park,... If a base owns this module, they will receive addittional income. Contracts with [QQ], for example: OS&C gets bonusses for delivering scientists to [QQ] bases (or just research facilities). How? Same as of the "tourist module". Instead there is a "Research Module". Here, [QQ] - Cryer Pharmaceuticals, can produce a product of their own, that can be used to maintain a crew's health, or the passengers health. For example pills that will increase performance of employees. Pills that increase health of passengers, perhaps some kind of "party drug", you know, smugglers everywhere delivering "party drugs"... Contracts with all sorths of navy or police instances, for example. OS&C can deliver marines in style to any kind of base. Marines give additional shield strength or some kind of firepower boost to turrets or...? To make a point here: i love OS&C, especially since they are fully independent, can travel around the whole Sirius system and basically "do whatever they want". But to me, passenger transports from one NPC planet to another aren't doing the trick anymore. I can obtain way more money by delivering videogames or bratwurst (which, for example, could be used to fuel up the tourist modules: videogames give additional income,...). OS&C needs more ways to deliver "passengers" or in general: human transportation around the Sirius system. Offcourse the biggest point i want to make: MAKE LINERS DIFFERENT THAN GENERAL TRANSPORTS. Liners cost more and have a different purpose, but in-game this purpose is just completely gone. Why should i take a 4300 liner to deliver videogames, if i can take a 5000 general transport? 700 extra units is a lot of extra profit. Liners need bonusses, somehow, they need to be different, not just another "transport", but a REAL liner. Offcourse they have more firepower than a general transport, but this again, on paper, is meant to protect your HIGH VALUABLE LIVING CARGO! To make OS&C completely integrated in a trade meta, we need more interaction with player bases. Not just for "the lulz/RP" of bringing scientists to a research facility or player base, but to make a difference. ne last idea: the description of "Crew" member fits with OS&C. Perhaps, if an OS&C vessel (so most likely a liner), with IFF AND ID, has a certain amount of crew, they will get delivery bonusses, can bring more passengers,... RE: Possible OSC Liner - Highland Laddie - 07-28-2015 Don't make it a 5ker, and I'd support it. Let Trains be trains, and klet Liners be Liners. Maybe make it have like 4k capacity might be good. Also, this Bratwurst and Videogames and so on route was suppose to be a 2-3 week long even that got stuck in game for a long time now. But right now, we're here for the model only. The reason I wrote a 5k liner, is cause of it's size , but I'm open to suggestions , and I hope so are devs. RE: Possible OSC Liner - sasapinjic - 07-29-2015 Some ideas : Liner should carry passengers only , but to also be commercial efficient , so i think it will be a good idea if they have some kind of bonuses like miners have mining bonus , that way 5K transport will no longer be only option for every trader . It this case , if liner class ship has OSC ID it has passenger bonus , like VIP only takes 3 cargo instead 5 for all other ships type , and tourist only takes 1 space instead of 2 , and simple passenger only takes 0.5 space instead of 1 , or if you use Bretonia liner which is much smaller than Enterprise you get bonus of VIP takes only 2 cargo space , etc . Pilgrim can be given some kind of similar bonus if he transport slaves or something with appropriate ID and Prison liner can have bonus for prisoners if he use Police ID . Or maybe bonus will simply be better selling price for all passenger/tourist/VIPs if you use liner+OSC . RE: Possible OSC Liner - Oldum - 07-29-2015 Again, I need to point out that those things are a different story, also, I'd like to get an opinion from @Haste , @Treewyrm and everyone else who is repsonsible for ships and models. |
