Leave my JM|-Disco.Ball alone.

I'd change them into something akin to the actual Ion Cannon (vide Homeworld universe). I'd like to see gunboat turned into Multibeam Frigate.

Or you know, these funny big lazor/mass-drivers as seen in here:

All in all, Zappers scream to become actual anti-cap weapon, a laser destined to cut the hull. Why this? Well, because I believe the origin of this weapon, which is mining laser, should make that weapon rather powerful.

tbh, they really need to fire where you're pointing, instead of spraying all over the place!

Make them red, black or green and then I'll accept them.

Q: Zappers?
A: No!

RE: Zappers? - Adam_Spire - 07-28-2015

I was wondering if the reason for the miss guidance of the zappers is due to the original game code. When you fire a single shot energy weapon, there is a, what I call a "wing commander dumb fire missile lock on." It's designed to not track anything but its initial fire or release points it directly at the target. Anything after that is just a straight line.

I always felt the zapper, or each turret, is picking a plot to the target that alters too fast for the game mechanics to keep track of.

A better example is the Titanic transport. 4 guns in back and 2 in front. If you ever fire them as you turn, you see they all go forward, but the 4 back shot group is way off center from the front two. Even when tracking the target, there is a noticeable off shoot.

We've wanted beam weapons in this game for a while and they even have mod videos on this. Notice what happens when they get close?

If there is no way to fix that, it may need to go away....unless you want fireworks?

I mean if not at least give Transports something like Solaris Gatlings replaced with Zappers 8| Transport Solaris Gatling turrets.

It's a transport, not a capital ship, also Dulzians, basically your anti-snub transport turrets.
