RE: Windows 10 and Freelancer - SnakeLancerHaven - 07-30-2015 1st got it for free 2nd works nice with Freelancer even better than 8.1 3rd if any of you guys used 8.1 until now it's definitly worth switching to win10. Can't tell for win7 users if it's realy worth. RE: Windows 10 and Freelancer - evanz - 07-30-2015 ![]() so unless you pay, for a "FREE" game your going to get spammed with adverts . . . . . . im sticking with my win 7 64 bit thanks it works! RE: Windows 10 and Freelancer - Plan-B - 07-30-2015 sorry for making Disputes about the OS - that wasnt my Intention - i only wanted to post it works to some ppl i know from ingame and Forum @all dicussing about "now your personal data is scanned by ..." rubbish - nonsense - idiotically behaviour when using the upgrade or Installation - READ - instead of pressing next next next hooray it works. - you are not forced to use the MS APPS - there is no need to to make a MS Account using it - you are not forced to join social media - there are plenty of things you can adjust NOT using typical or express Installation my accountancy computer will stay on win 7 - cause ist not clear that all programs work! my gaming notebook now is win 10 - up to now all works today i updated 10 more computers to win 10, Company Computers all without the APP stuff. 1 did fail will check for the reason tomorrow so you are free in your choice RE: Windows 10 and Freelancer - Radion - 07-30-2015 (07-30-2015, 06:32 PM)evanz Wrote: so unless you pay, for a "FREE" game your going to get spammed with adverts If the old games are that important of an issue for you, they can be found here. Freelancer is a very old PC game in the scheme of things and I have various games that are as old as that and a few even older, "TIE Fighter", "X-Wing" and similar and it would be great to finally have an OS where I don't need to muck about for hours on end just to get them to run. RE: Windows 10 and Freelancer - Fifty. - 07-31-2015 Indeed it works fine with Freelancer... I switched from Windows 7 and I'm fairly happy overall (excluding some compatibility issues of the touchpad of the laptop, but that's more Acer's fault). Didn't do a fresh install - just upgraded keeping all files and settings - and it did indeed (even the desktop background, icon order and minor things like that). There are a few things I didn't like though. Like the MS store thing scanning your entire laptop for content. No idea why it did that, but it was process consuming, causing battery drain. Another thing, you can disable Cortana, but she still remains as a process taking some 50M of memory. Can't be shut down. Of course there is the ad thing for Solitaire. Since I don't play the built-in MS games, I don't care. There are ads in the built-in news program, but again, I don't use it, so I don't care. The good thing is they give you the option to switch back to your old Windows, provided you do so within a month. RE: Windows 10 and Freelancer - Gulryz - 07-31-2015 Windows 10 is really really good |
