ok, but you do keep backups of the data right? on a different box to the server, and you do it every so often? right? please tell me you do :) dont want the server to crash and then that be it :(

LMAO.
When the server crashes, I am, for the most part, able to recover the player data. however for me to do this, the server *MUST* be shut down. otherwise the player data would get corrupted.
Speaking of which, in about 10 min, i'll be making a backup of our existing config and moving it to the new server. Happy happy joy joy :)

Joe, As I am un able to access my accounts would it be possible to save them as I will be back on the server in September. If not that is ok, or that if it is too much for you to do then dont. But if it is possible, it would be much appreciated.

Met it's either impossible or close to it. It would be much easier to compensate your losses when you return, let alone this will help to avoid potential server problems (cause mod version is changing).
Player wipe will probably take place on August 2 or 3.

I remind that, in spite of the delay, wipe will happen today or tomorrow. Log on, secure all your inactive characters! Even if you played with some of your chars since May, your older chars might be deleted.
So, if you want to feel secure and haven't used some of your chars since about May 1, log on at least once - several minutes will be enough.
I've put banners on server too, so I hope everyone knows about the wipe and no further explanation is needed... should be clear even for a 3-year-old kid now what to do :)
