RE: Corsair Osiris - Possibru? - Wesker - 11-26-2015 Why would you even want a Osiris when you could get a Murmillo lmao. A Murmillo is a better Osiris in literaly every way. RE: Corsair Osiris - Possibru? - Querious - 11-26-2015 I think that the Prox(Omicron-91), Delos(Omicron-94), and Fes(Omega-49) need to all be converted into Murmillos to make things look more accurately presented as far as the Corsairs go. Also I think Corsair Osiris NPCs should be removed, too. That's just my two cents, though. Because I don't necessarily choose my ships ingame by numbers representing turrets/armor/powercore, but more on the RP I could write out of them. I have actually heard such, even though i came too late into disco to see that first hand. Ossie had been widely used by corsairs before it was replaced with the murmulio, a "corsair-ified" version of ossie. Still though, you can use the ossie as a corsair, probably for RP reasons as the 75% nerf makes it not a good choice for combat. Perhaps a SRP could do. The stationary ones are not so clear-cut, since presumably they would be experienced crew in long-standing ships that head the battlegroups the stationary objects represent. Unless they actually do get hauled back to Rhodes or Tripoli and converted into Murmillos, they would probably be pretty useful to keep as Osirises. A not-terrible analogy would be the stationary CR caps at Sabah and the Hades staying as Zephyrs while we had the Kronos (and maybe still so if the Zephyr is replaced by this new thing we are maybe getting..?) RE: Corsair Osiris - Possibru? - RmJ - 11-27-2015 Anything is possible, and frankly it should boil into a copy cat version. But the class of ship itself wouldn't be an issue nor the SOP of the Osiris class. I know I know you want it to look exactly like the Osiris, why else would you suggest this instead of an entirely new ship. But ultimately...it would become an original ship. RE: Corsair Osiris - Possibru? - Darku - 11-27-2015 Corsair and Order not alliance any more. A corsair that would fly an order ship would be concidered as a traitor by the Elders , if i'm not wrong. RE: Corsair Osiris - Possibru? - RmJ - 11-27-2015 Even then so, and how I would do it, is even being allies I'd still spy the crap out of them. Especially the Order. Basically, the Murm isn't an entirely new ship class - it's an extremely heavily retrofitted form of Osiris. Some of the Osiris stationary battleships are actually just geriatric Osiris' that were never updated because it wasn't cost effective to do so; they're actually stationary guard ships because they're obsolete and not combat worthy enough to serve in a front line role. Consequently, they wouldn't receive the new Murm model. In the original agreement, the Order basically gave the Corsairs an extremely neutered set of Osiris blueprints (having kept the most juicy and sensitive technology for themselves) in return for the Corsairs building the Order's fleet (the Order then lacking shipyard facilities). Because Corsair Osiris' were subpar, they set to rebuilding them to suit their own design brief. Because of that, the Corsair's (actually rather small) capital arsenal would comprise of a random mix of elderly Osiris', newer and better Murms and a handful of fully in-house designed Legates. I imagine the Legates are less technically refined and constructed though, given that the Osiris and Murm are both essentially incredibly high tech House designs, while the Legate is entirely home-brewed.
