Okay, but gunboats themselves can get instakilled by BS razors. How is that fair?
Or is it because someone who doesn't spend 90% of their online time in Conn dared to kill your snub.

If a razorboat shows up on the battlefield grab a gunboat with an anti-GB loadout. The razorboat will melt and there will be little to fight back. As has been echoed in this thread, this sounds like another change to needlessly make snubs top dog.

I think what Meph is trying to say is that the ease of instakilling a snub is too much when the only thing you need to do is select the snub, get close, zoom out, overlap the crosshair and BAM, a blue without any real effort.
I'm fine with Razors being unable to instakill. But i'm not against Razors being able to instakill.

You people are missing the point.
Razors have zero purpose now. They may as well be zappers. If the instakill factor was deemed too problematic, couldn't they have been changed in a way that they retain some usefulness? Mind you I'm saying this as somebody who shoots razorboots in snubs far more often than the other way around.
If they're going to be laughably weak and not even have range to compensate, they should at least be faster. Prior to the buff which was now reverted, zero people used them and the way things are now, nobody will.

It's not like they were ever useful before. Gbs have always used full Solaris or full prims.

Why are you compering "GB" weapons with "BB" weapons? Why would any gunboat try to go 1400 range close to a BB to allow it to take heavy damage? Also you need 2 razors on BB to one shot a gunboat not one (yes sometimes u can one shot snubs but they are not meant to engage battleships). Razor on BB are barely useful, due to the range, and consume 2.8M energy.
If you are a gunboat, being destroyed by BB razor then u are doing it wrong - I mean anyone that find himself in such situation should simply keep distance.
About the thread topic - My opinion is the nerf to the Razors was necessary in order to remove instant killing, which possibly did more "harm" to the new players than the old ones. What Wesker pointed out is sadly the truth - if you ever used razors you would most likely die often. Full primary/solaris boats need more nerfs and maybe that could be done with with more "heavy" slots and even some "light" ones, where "primary" turrets to fall in the "medium" slots - just to be like BBs, 3 types of weapons.
I agree that the existence of Razors on GBs was to "one shot" someone but I also agree that by doing so most players would not have anything to do to counter the "inevitable" death sooner or later.

Your entire argument could be used to justify gunboat razors too. "It's the snubs fault for getting close" and "It requires lots of energy" As well as "they need to mount two to be effective against a ship class (bombers)".
Also I believe Wesker was actually agreeing with my statement that razor gunboats were dead meat for other gunboats. Razor gunboats really aren't used that much because they're very niche in what they can do and furthermore require skill to use I'm contrast to the normal loadouts. We all remember that LH GS a while back who tore snubs new holes. If you were smart however you'd grab a gunboat and stomp it - which is what I did.

As Pavel said it's a VFH orientated game. Anything that's not a fighter needs to be nerfed to hell and made useless.
