I did have similar problem like you do , in Bustard i have mounted Transport Cloak and JD3 , if i tried to unmount either of them i get message insufficient cargo space , cause they all weight around 500-600 , and when you try to un-mount one that means you have to have cargo of some 1600-1700 , plus count there you have weapons ,armor shields etc .
I contacted admins to help me , and after some mayor problems involving 2 admins heavy "hack and slash" action they manage to transfer Cloak to my other ship ( big thanks to Pavel and Alley there ) .
Your other solution will be to ask some POB owner to help , and allowe you to sell and then buy back equipment for 1 credit with some other character .

Submitting a Player Request is your best bet. Just make a new thread in the subforum.
